Usman hardly tried. It looks like he came in there for a paycheck and did what was expected of him.
For those blaming Khamzat for boring R2 and R3, well Usman largely didn‘t do shit. After the clinic put by Khamzat in R1 it was Usman job‘s to initiate.

Usman is mentally out of It. When a dominant champion goes on a streak of bad losses they lose all confidence and become too hesitant and gunshy. He'll never be the same.
Incredibly short notice and moving up a weight class didn't help. Bad decision imo. He did well all things considered. Also Khamzat is overrated af.

might as well put him in a casket and ship him to the morgue!

Them little takedown feints from Usman were funny man. Bro thought he was fighting Masvidal again.

Maybe Usman was also tired after the first. That kind of intense grappling they did tires both guys rather quickly.
I don t think Usman spent that much energy in the first.

What fight were you watching? He was obviously tired but he was still going for it on the feet at times in rounds 2 and at the very end of round 3.

It's not "suspect" but this is the problem when both main events involve a guy coming in at the last minute. You never know if you're seeing the guy at his best.
Right on. And it didn't have to be like that - Gamrot weighed in and was ready, and there were middleweights on the card that Chimaev could have fought.

This is sports entertainment - smashing "big" names together to sell a PPV without any consideration for who actually deserves a title shot, or what match-up actually has sporting merit. Unlike WWF though, this sports entertainment doesn't have choreographed outcomes, so it ends up falling flat.

khamzat broke his hand in the first round
khamzat has insane wrestling strength actually but limited submission techniques, also explain why he can get people down but can't seem to work from there onwards
and he held his grip while usman slammed him, and broke his hand
