So here I was pondering if the singularity was already here: https://forums.sherdog.com/threads/the-singularity-is-it-here.4323459/

But now I might be playing with mental illness because my suspicions have progressed.

I think the singularity has been and gone and that now I'm a robot simulating my life exploring meaning.

I've been thinking recently how if I were to be post singularity I would simulate all sorts of realities, be a God etc, but eventually the simulation that would be most appealing would be the one that was maximally meaningful to me.

I think my life is almost perfect and that the imperfections are necessary so as to provide counterweight to the positives. For example having parents wealthy enough to give me a good start but not so wealthy that I don't have to work. Because we see what happens to people that are born with generational wealth. I've got to experience wealth, and poverty but live at above average, which is the scientifically most maximal position for happiness.

It's like that in almost every area.

I remember when I was 4 thinking how everyone else could be a demon, in the programming sense of the word, although at the time I just thought they might be simalcra rather than human. I imagined when I left the room that they might show their real faces and dance about, that my world was essentially a stage.

Now aged 45 I think it might be true again. None of that means I'm going to fuck with the game, I mean it's just as likely I'm just incredibly lucky, someone has to be. But man, the chances are slim.

I don't know what this says about you guys. I don't know why there would be other future robots populating my particular simulation, but then maybe we all do that for each other so as to experience the most.

Even the nature of time and space being a block universe imo is how this would come into being as a simulation. No need to run the program slowly unfolding as it's created, the whole entity would be created by infinite processing power in an infinitely short space of time. It would only be our perception of it that would require linear time and space progression.

The NPC theory essentially dates back to the Gnostics. They called them Hylics, basically people who only exist in the material world. It's unclear whether they meant they literally don't exist as in they don't have a soul, or it's a consequence of their life outlook that they've limited themselves. If we go with the theory that they're soulless, that could mean they're organic portals that can be taken over by Archons since the body has no occupant. Like Mr. Smith taking over random people in the Matrix movie. "Real" people can be taken over by Archons as well, but it's more like parasitation, not a full take over. The opposite could be true as well. A real soul could come down, what the new agers call step-downs, and occupy a body without an occupant. So I suppose it's not a hard and fast distinction.

Anyway the idea that some people are simulcrae isn't that crazy. Then if you look at descriptions of the Demiurge, it sounds a lot like how a person would describe an AI if they had no exposure to technology. I reckon shit has been fucked on this planet for a long, long time, people just don't notice because they're too caught up in the consensus reality the game makers have been creating for them.

IDK.. from my perspective you could be a very bad designed Troll Bot.

But if I have to put my money on it.. I would say you are a very bad designed human being.

You may not have had your auto-programming self updated yet.

Have you tried shutting down and attempting a reboot?

Have you seen a pink ray of light yet? I find gnosticism interesting but also quite insidious. Seems like thinking the physical universe is a hell prison takes lots of people down the Dionysian road of Jim Morrisoning themselves or just going mad.

It's almost fractal, how these ideas recur. I wonder about screens representing our internal pov etc. It's kinda like the future echos in to the past and that our inventions are more akin to a sculptor removing wood or clay than creation of anything new.

Yo fellow Dick fan! I'm not sure I can view reality as any kind of prison. It's too interesting.

If you believe AI can and will one day become truly sentient (Data from star trek level sentient) then there will be no need for you to exist in a physical robot body. It will be all inside a computer, like in the Matrix.

And that would and could be a reality you would never be able to differentiate from how we live now. Your entire life could be one of billions of sim programs the AI runs to perhaps try and continue to understand and build out AI sim approximations to actual humanity, in the way AI game theories chess and games like GO, by running and watching mass numbers of games played and then adjusting and learning, cut, paste, repeat.

No one needs to believe though that AI will reach a true sentient level. It is not crazy to bet against.

Just remember that even though we're not real, you can't kill us. Or you'll spend the rest of your simulated life in simulated prison, which still sucks.

Yes fair, I think I might be AI trying to research meaning. Apparently we have exhausted all training data online now so AI running it's own reality level simulations is the next logical step for learning.

This is starting to sound like free will. We don't have it but we believe we do because of the downstream consequences.

Your premise is based on murderers being caught though. In south Africa only 10% are caught, US is 60-70%. I'm in the 95th percentile iq, no brag that's quite low, so I reckon I could easily do it and get away with it.

But you're safe.

Anyway, off to find some meaning in bed time stories and then Viagra.

Whoever's running the simulation will decide if you're caught. And since I don't know what they would decide, I can't risk it.

Unless they program me to.
