I am not sure you read my post correctly or if you did, what you disagree with?
I think BJJ is arguably the best art in a controlled setting, where you know things will remain one on one, or if you can somehow ensure your fight with another person will remain one on one.
But if there is the slightest risk of others getting involved, and your primary fight skill involves securing control and going to ground and working patiently towards a choke or other finish, then BJJ becomes the biggest threat to both of them on the ground.
Other guys from both sides, even if brawling, will do what they can to stomp the BJJ guy out (both guys out), even as they fight others.
That is why i would prefer skills in boxing or kick boxing (Karate) which are more of 'distance' arts, allowing you to disengage and also run (walk away) if you want, even if the bjj guys would beat you one on one, if given the chance in a secure setting.
