I need help ( self defense )

GF was telling me about.

All started when a roof in a railway station collapsed killing a number of people......that was a couple of months ago and things have snowballed since.

Ludicrous for a grown man to fear for his life, though. Very little violence, thus far.

Things are speeding up. I have heard numerous times insider information about hooligans being utilized for a specific gathering, and the only reason they didn't sent any yet ( my theory could be wrong ) is because someone on their end is leaking info. And they want to suprise us.

Again 2 students were already ran over by a car, and many many were assaulted and threatened. If internet and cameras didn't exist they would run us all over with tanks.

Maybe Im just too into it all that has been happening here, but I don't remember this country being like this 10 years ago.

Honestly, get strong and in shape, increase your mental acuity and be alert/aware. Those things will put you in a good place to start really being capable of survival. Also Black powder firearms are amazing, don’t sleep on them.

Flashlight, pepper spray, black powder gun. In that order.

Someone steps up, shine the light in their eyes.

If that doesn't stop them, use the pepper spray. You'll be surprised at how effective it is. It's way better than a knife. People keep attacking after being stabbed, very few people can keep attacking after a properly administered dose of pepper spray.

And then as a last resort, you have the black powder gun. I know they suck but it's still a gun and it can still save your life. It's just less convenient to use, but in your situation I'd rather have one than have no gun at all.


Also as others have said, get in good physical shape in case you need to run away or grapple with someone. Your life may depend on your fitness level. If BJJ classes are an option that will help immensely.

I have 1 year of BJJ training and around 6 months of kickboxing training. I feel confident pinning down a smaller untrained man, someone bigger then me not so much. Although logically in this situation its a terrible option.

I will run if I can, but the nature of protests means it isn't always going to be a option.

Running is not necessarily about running away from a fight. That is an option and often the best one. But many times you might run to spread out the attackers. Maybe one of them can run before gassing but most will not be able to. You might also run to a spot where you know you gain some advantages and stand and fight there.

Running means you are in shape and that more, than any martial arts training, for most non fighters will be there best weapon.

I have a bunch of friends ( and my younger brother ) there. Nobody would be sitting home while their friends are getting literally ran over on the street.

I started this thread because i wanted to hear from sherdogers what tools would they recommend for self defense. I don't feel I can morally just avoid this situation.

Tazers are ill effective. Pepper spray is effective but when used you'll also spray yourself and the dozens of people around you. If you're indoors you'll gas out the whole room.

There have been reports for years now of tensions brewing in the former Yougoslavia but somehow mainstream media in the west is not interested.

Anyways TS, we are talking about lethal stuff here since we are talking about black powder guns and all? Weird stuff, some dude in a future war zone asking for tipps from a bunch of out of shape middle aged dudes in western democracies. But since you ask. I would say something to protect in your left hand (think a small buckler or shield or a lot of padding on your jacket) and a hammer or steel pipe on your right. This is easy and optimal for any melee situation.

BUT IMO this is of limited help against a crazy guy with a knife who charges you. So you need a knife, too that you can access easily.

If I was in that situation I think that this would be my choice.

I saw the protests on tv as I was recently home in the balkans. Basically obviously they are not gonna attack you if you keep out of it. They are just gonna beat on the people protesting against the goverment.

General self defense is a good character, what you say what you do, to prevent violence. However just learning any fighting sport works.

But vs the goverment you just keep out their way if you don´t wannag get beat.

Or just move to Croatia where life is better.

275 BP doesn´t work when the guy just runs you over with a car XD. Plus they are gonna send the underworld after you. You can´t karate noone there.

Basically they want justice in Serbija for some public infrastructure/ building crashing and killing 15 people. What I got form it that it was the fault of someone who is part of the goverment or their friend so they just get away with it. So students protest. And they atack them with cars and tough guys beating on them, sent by the goverment. But they aren´t attacking random people like TS, just protestors.

Attending in of itself is dumb but you seem intent on that. Imo buying $200s worth of shit and larping as some sort of Antifa bodyguard is dumb. If you stab or shoot someone you'll get charged with homicide, unless your country has Murka-level self-defense laws, which I doubt it does. Plus looking like a professional protester AKA troublemaker in the eyes of some can backfire and make you a target.
