I miss the good old days

As a little Australian kid i loved the movie bloodsport, i loved the characters and the different fighting styles, loved seeing them face each other and then seeing how it could play out.. it was a movie i would watch weekly and i always wished it was real then, many years later i heard about the UFC. It wasn't something readily avaliable in Australia to watch so i would put on my pirate hat and would watch it alone around midnight as that's when it generally would be uploaded, it was like a guilty pleasure of mine as it was kind of taboo. I wouldn't have to worry about spoilers as it was spammed on socials seconds after there was a finish.

I miss the the evolution, the unpolished product where funny / random shit will happen.. i miss fighters not being scared of being cancelled and being true to themselves. Now it feels like we have a bunch of copycats, and the evolution has slowed right down, where the last innovation was the calf kick.

I feel like it's almost all been done now, we have been spoilt and we've seen most of the storylines playout and now it doesn't feel the same.

What i miss the most is those nerves before a big fight and little shakes i used to get before a massive fight where you know how ever this end it's going to be massive and sherdog would most likely crash.

I hear you bro, but I will say that I got that feeling more for Poatan vs Ank than I have in a while, and I'm sure I'll have them for DDP vs Khamzat.

All days are different. The product isn't without the same appeal, it just might have more or less of those events, but it's how you connect to them

He backtracked since
You can't backtrack from that. The problem wasn't just admiring Hitler, it was  agreeing with him. You can't just turn around and go "Oh sorry, that's not really what I meant when I said 'the greedy jews needed to be removed from the country because they were using books to queer up the kids.' There's either actually a problem reasonable explanation as to why I believe that, or I'mgoing to try and convince you i don't actually believe that, despite saying it.."

You cant expect to maintain your level of enthusiasm for something after it isnt fresh and new before.

There's no way I am going to be as OBSESSED as I was when I first started watching, those earlier years.

But I still love it, and dont "miss" the old days, cos I can watch old events any time I want npw.

People dont seem to realize they get older and change too, they just blame everything else around them instead lol
It's very obvious this is the case. It's common in general, but on a message board filled with middle aged people, they're likely oblivious that it isn't 2006 anymore.

Most of the things MMA is criticized about today applied to before. Every week some guy says things aren't the same, as if them being 17 years old at the time they're recalling the sport has nothing to do with it.

I feel ya, its not the same anymore. I miss so much when we had UFC, Pride and WEC cards within a 2 week span!! it was amazing and so much fun, the hype and energy and buzz was incredible. MMA was booming at that time and the excitement was through the roof. Now we get tons of UFC Apex cards in an empty, soulless, lonely and sad looking little converted gym. Zero energy, zero atmosphere, its totally flat, its really sad to see, never thought I'd see MMA that way, its a high energy sport, it needs real humans there and lots of energy and excitement.
