I just realized no favorite fighters on the profile signatures

It's mostly for the better, I think. I never was a fan of being slapped in the eyes with the same long list of names every time a poster would chime in with a few words. It helped when the forum's redesign made the signature so small and dim that it didn't take up near as much attention of the eyeballs; come to think of it, that's probably why the art of signature died as much as it did.

Sometimes I do miss having an immediate index of the poster's favorites though. It's like a handy cheatsheet to remember the person's biases, and reply accordingly.

Fuel for the fire. Gives ammo for some unrelated response, like having a pic of fighter in AV or location. Give them nothing, but take from them everything!

Back in time a lot of posters were sharing their favorite fighters on their signatures but right now nearly nobody does this,I think sherdoggers dont like the game as before and hanging here just to get some likes for ego masturbation,I remember very well back in time I made a thread about a card and I called it weak and I had a huge shitstorm and I learnt my lesson that on sherdog yu cant talk shit about a card it was like 2007 or 2008 but nowadays we see people crying nearly about every card...thats another fact
These forums have become MMA twitter.

Everybody was putting me in their sigs as the best fighter so the mods made them cut it out. Sorry guys

All of my favorite fighters become long reigning champions. No one believes me though.

My favorite fighter is in my sig, don't know what the fuck you on about TS.

Younger people rightly realized it’s cringy and weird to make a long list of your favourites into your sig. Or even to have a long list of favourites, or any favourites at all.
It’s quite odd to worship a fighter or follow them like a team.

it's probably more sensible to follow or even 'worship' an individual sportsperson than a team, a sports team is just an ultimately meaningless substitute for something bigger (the way football fans talk about their favorite club's 'glorious history' always makes me lol), an individual may at least have qualities worth of being emulated.

Those kinds of sigs remind me when my son was in middle school and wrote a bunch of band names on his backpack.

I noticed that too recently. I still have my fav lineup in my sig :)

Your sig used to be a big thing. It was a quick imprint that anyone could see what you're about. These days, not so much.

Lol, this is nonsense. It's not odd in any sense to have some fighters that you favor more than other fighters. Following fighters like a team makes a lot of sense. It's essential to how spectator sports work whether those sports are individual or team-based. Now worshipping fighters would be odd, so you make a strong point there, but it's a massive leap to go from having a list of fighters you like to offering burnt sacrifices, no?
