I Have To Reiterate: Once A fighter Gets Finished, He Is Never The Same Again

Go get a life, kid!

Out of thousands of fighters, you mentioned less than a dozen and how do you know they were the same after concussions? You saying Bisping was better after he got decapitated by Henderson? Overeem better after Ngannou, who also ended Cain. Rampage the same after 2 Wanderlei losses? Chuck Lidell doesn't know what planet he is on and it all began with Rashad. It is a young man's game and so is PTSD and once you loose that air of invincibility, you know you are not the same. Ferguson should be the poster boy after Gaethje discombobulated him. I'm done holding classes for MMA casuals.

Kid, I could list a shit ton, like Izzy, Strickland, Whitaker and many more but I really don't feel like researching to prove you even more wrong.

Also you do realize MMA started more than a decade ago right? Overrem fought and lost by KO way before Ngannou. Bisping clearly got better after his loss.

I been watching MMA before you even knew what it was. Hell I was on the forum before you even knew what MMA was. 😂

I think it's more about K.Os on top of mileage and age.

Now, you are just being silly. I was watching Vale Tudo and Luta Libre in the late 80's in Brazil. I watched the first UFC in 1993 in the States and watched the first Pride in Japan, in 1997. I was also training and it's not important who I am. What is important is that there are very few people around that can school me on MMA and you sure the hell are not one of them.

Some can, but usually these long time champs once they lose/get finished seems like mentally they become broken

This sort of logic leads to boxings obsession with never losing. So I don't accept that. If fighters are damaged goods when they lose decisively they just aren't going to fight anyone. And you can see the MMA culture slowly moving towards that.

You just got dragged by over half a dozen people. Lol

Your MMA knowledge has been weighed, measured, and its been found wanting.

Everyone reacts differently to getting knocked out. However it does seem to be the case that a bad knockout, or a severe one sided beating greatly affects high level fighters. This could be literally physical... or psychological...or a combination of the two.

GSP and Rampage Jackson are the only REAL examples (bisping idk ever got better, and his punch resistance definitely dropped, strickland only fought a few times... wasnt brutally KOed either) I can think of.

Most of the time people are KOed in serious fashion, it's the beginning of the end.

Finished as in KO'd, yes.
GSP was finished and started the greatest streak in the sport immediately after, but it was an armbar.
Hey black belt, did you even watch ufc? GSP was also ko'd by serra and came back stronger

There is no safety in numbers. Grow some balls and be an independent thinker rather than a follower. I couldn't care less what you think of my MMA knowledge or capability but I am willing to bet that I know more than you. You are welcome to ignore my threads and my posts. I'll be happy to return the favor. I'm just pissed that my boy lost the fight and I lost money on him, despite the fact that a little voice was telling me, did he just no get ko'd in his last fight? I'm my worst enemy when I don't listen to myself, but that's not your problem.

Islam got brutally koed, and then? This makes no sense.

If you give your body the right time to recover, you will be ok.

It requires months.

But I am pretty sure that most of the fighters don't do that. Some folks start to spar the day after a ko.

I think it depends more on the age, and recovery time, especially if older. Lawler got KO'd by Diaz, went on to have an amazing career, f'n legend!

I think this depends a lot on how old a fighter is, the kind of knockout, and how much mileage a fighter has. If a fighter gets flash knocked out in their early 20s, then they could definitely come back from that. If someone in their 30s gets knocked out, especially if it a bad KO, then that fighter will never be a serious title contender again.

Islam was not brutally knocked out. It was a flash KO, wich wasn't so bad. Not to mention he hadn't accumulated much damage to hiss body yet because he was so young when it happened. If he got KOd like that now he would never be the same.

say that to Whitakker who just won

after eating a heel kick to the jaw

GSP, DC and Islam say No!

It's not just the ko, it's also that if you are a top guy in the UFC, after you get ko'ed they'll make you face a series of absolute killers from the top of the rankings. In boxing, a fighter who gets finished will often build his confidence back up with a couple of softer matches before going for the top guys again. Not so in the UFC, which is why guys that seemed invincible can go on bad skids after that first loss.
