I got gout saturday and went to the hospital for precautionary reasons.

How painful is gout to you?

I honestly thought I broke a toe or sprained it badly. But it was gout. Never had it before, this is my first time.

It's not fun, it's very painful. Wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy. Not only the pain is excruciating it's long lasting.

It feels like it never ends. The pain is like 50 needles going into my big toe.

And yes I'm overweight by 30 lbs and I have shitty diet I would say.

Anyone experienced this before?

Do you drink a lot?

In Aus its regarded as the piss head disease as generally only alcho's get it regularly.

edit. Not saying this to shame you or anything. I think you are a genuinely nice guy.

If you are hitting the bottle a bit hard or have some other issues, shoot me a message happy to chat mate.

I went to the doctor's because my foot was hurting.

He took a look at it and said " Gout."

So I left .

It's the worst pain I've experienced for sure. But if you combat it properly, you can get over it asap. My first "attack", I didn't have a clue what was going on, so it lasted for 4-6 weeks. Agony.

Whenever I get a slight feel of it now (my toe), I eat nothing but salad and just drink water 24/7 and it'll clear up in 2 or 3 days.

Weightloss is important though. As we get older don't just become fat and stale.

Hi I’m Troy McClure! You might remember me from
such educational films as, “Out With Gout, ‘88” and “Lead Paint: Delicious But Deadly!”

Im drinking copious amounts of Wellers bourbon and eating a rare steak at the moment.

Whats a gout?

I had the gout attack a few years ago. It sucked for sure.

I stopped all beer and scotch and pop. Still eat red meat, drink wine and tequilla so there is hope bro.

Stay strong

get in shape with water fasting, and it goes away naturally

or

black cherry bills daily

I get some sort of inflammation during the winters and kills my joints, and black cherry is gold.

That doesn't sound good. The worst pain I've ever had was a toothache. That was fucking terrible, and even when I desperately got my hands on some strong painkillers, they didn't really seem to do much. I couldn't sleep, was up all night etc. It was torture. Nearly two years ago I broke my ankle in basically exactly the same way McGregor did (identical injury, his was just ever so slightly higher up on the bones) and the foot was just dangling there, hanging loose completely. It felt kinda bizarre, and it wasn't pleasant, but at no point (including right after surgery when it was burning quite intensely) was that injury as painful as the toothache I'd had. The toothache was much worse. Brush your teeth religiously and don't delay going to the dentist even if you're a broke student, people. Thinking "oh, it'll be alright" = a very terrible idea.

The body can't break down uric acids properly
I always say that the human body is a shit design on here. It is garbage at filtering things out. We should be like wolverine with our healing.

wisdom tooth = immense pain and headache..... it's the additional headache that's killer. Gout or similar is painful only while you're walking, tooth is almost a consistent buzz of death

I've never had it but I've heard people say that eating cherries helps relieve it.
