I dont understand low carb diets for weight loss...

It's waaay harder to gain wait just eating meat and veg Vs bread and pasta.

2025, people still pretending not to know why theyre fat and unhealthy. Lol, cans everywhere.

It, by default, means that you're cutting out a lot of highly processed, super calorie dense foods, making it easier to eat at a caloric deficit for a lot of people, and if you're not training particularly hard, those carbs aren't really missed.

That said, if you're actually concerned about health/fitness/athletic performance, low carb probably isn't the way to go. Eat carbs, just try to get most of them from root veggies, whole grains, and fruits.

Agreed, I reckon you need some carbs if you're doing a lot of training. Reckon low carb can be good for a month or two to quickly drop some weight but not a good long term strategy.

It's the illusion of weight loss. Your depleting water and glycogen when you cut carbs, so scale weight goes down rapidly. However, as you pointed out, unless your in a caloric deficit, you won't actually lose weight.

Theoretically if you are in ketosis, your body will prioritize fat stores for energy. However, that still doesn't result is faster weight loss (but it could potentially alter body composition).
