I don't dispute that Khabib is an all time great, but how can fans justify his legendarily shameful ducking of GSP? Perhaps the most shameful ever.

Khabib was an excellent fighter, and would have been great probably, but he didn't stick around in the big time long enough for me to say he was a GOAT. I also thought it was odd that he wouldn't meet GSP at a catch weight, when it was obvious that Khabib often had trouble cutting to 155. Oh well, it is what it is.

my recollection was that GSP did a test weight cut to see how well he responded to 155.
I also vaguely remember that supposedly GSP was trying for a 3rd belt and LW was it , and Khabibs response was , if you want the belt , then you have to come get it at 155, hence the insistence of GSP being 155.

The two hardest fights he could've taken in his prime that made sense didn't happen (Prime Tony/Charles), he pulled/retired his way out of those fights which were consensually agreed his hardest stylistic matchups

It's the equivalent of suggesting that GSP was ducking Silva at 185 my dude. GSP originally said his intention was to fight Khabib at 155 and later on wanted it at a catch weight. Khabib said no and Dana White said it would never happen at a catch weight. Just one of the fights that was never meant to be due to timing
