I, as a McG fan, am starting to worry

Seems like a big pay day promised to make Conor look invincible again because Diaz fights at 155 and if its true and Diaz was asked to fight at a catch weight of 160 then 165 now 170 means he is way out of shape. The best he can do is 15 pounds over his usual weight class so we will see how it plays out but don't be expecting to see the Nate Diaz everybody was excited to see against Michael Johnson he looked like he had been living in the gym. On the other side Conor has been in camp almost 3 months training for a 5 round fight. I just love how Conor runs his big mouth talking about how nobody wants to fight him everybody goes silent well when you get a 3 month training camp and they get a 10 day training camp its pretty god damn obvious why.

Conor also has that deadly left hook that has knocked so many guys out. Has there ever been a feather weight with that kind of one-hit knock out power before?

It's not a hook. Its a left straight.

it will go something like conor v holloway imo for the first three rounds anyway

McG haters keep on saying Nate Diaz is Dana's Easter present to Conor, another easy win on Conor's resume.Btw there are reasons which make me believe this will not be an easy fight for Conor, at all.
These are my points

1)Nate is tough and does not back down, he loves them striking wars and usually comes out victorious

2)Nate Diaz has one of the toughest chins in the sport and is very hard to finish

3)Nate is longer, bigger and heavier. Say what you want but McG was still fighting at 145 up to 2 1/2 months ago and he's fighting 2 weight classes above now. I feel he hardly has to cut any weight to fight at 170, whilst Diaz is probably cutting a good 10-15 pounds

4)In the UFC, we've seen Conor's power work well against 45ers, not against natural WWs who cut to LW

5)Conor's predictions are vague and he doesn't come across as confident as he used to. When's he's so certain about victory he usually describes violent finishes and scenarios, whilst he was very quiet about his next fight, saying stuff like "He cannot handle the ferociousness" or "the will does not meet the skill" etc.

6)Diaz can be very sneaky on his back and I can very easily see him luring McG into his guard after receiving a hard blow and "falling" ala Werdum. I do not think Conor will miss an opportunity to GnP

7)Nate has good hands, and is a specialist in turning technical fights into dog fights with that jab of his

There are many other reasons really, these came to mind.
I think the odds are actually in favor of Conor, do not get me wrong...he has a good 65% chance of winning I'd say. But let's not all act as if this is the easiest fight of his career, it probably is one of his toughest tests together with Mendes, whilst vs Aldo I knew the Brazilian would get lit up by McG's superb counterstriking

diaz has not fought at ww in 5 years he is defnitley not walking around at 180-185 and fighting at lw he stays in way to good of shape for that. people that dont understand how weight cuts work should start asking questions instead of making statements with no basis whatsoever. if diaz walked at 185 and had to cut 30lbs of water weight (since he does not baloon in between camps it would be a water cut not dieting down for the eventual cut) he would be cutting nearly one sixth of his entire body weight in water. if 70% of ur body is water at 185 lbs thats 129.5 lbs of water so he would be cutting nearly 1/4 of the avaliable water in his body which could lead to renal failure and brain damage. take into account that ivs are now also banned and its even more unlikely for a fighter to make these large percentage cuts ala gleison tibau and nate was never making them to begin with.

You should worry. Both are skilled and can win. Let's just see how they match up. Conor has a lot of advantages though, faster, more power, great chin, great kicks. He's also very smart.

Nate is coming in basically with no camp and will be only a shell of his peak.

It is really a win win for fans. Win or lose, both will still be highly regarded.

I'm not so sure about Diaz not having a camp. I bet the UFC told him before Conor va RDA was booked to be ready because if anything happens he will be fighting McGregor. Recent pic of him also shows him to be in decent shape. When Diaz isn't in camp or doesn't have a fight booked he usually looks pretty soft. I bet he's been working out for the last month maybe even longer.

When are Sherdoggers going to learn that value in your life doesn't depend on whether some fighter wins or loses? Relax and enjoy the sport as a whole. Individual fighters will win and lose, and you can stop biting your fingernails in the lead up to every fight. This is supposed to be entertaining to us, but many of you approach it in such a neurotic way as not to make it so.

Not a McGregor fan, but I can't see him losing this fight. There are many factors in an mma fight, but with those 4 oz gloves, chin durability and power are most important. Nate might match the former, but not the latter.

Nate will have throw non-stop to win, which I doubt he'll be able to since he tried to use his lack of a full camp as an excuse during the presser. He just won't be in shape to win, if he even could either way.

it would be hilarious if Conor was almost finishing him via ground and pound but decides to let him back up so he can follow through with the prediction.

lol I recall one of his fights (maybe halloway I cant remember) where conor clearly dominated the entire way to the win, but at the end I don't know who he was talking too but he was visibly upset he didn't knock the opponent out haha. It truly looked as if he was not happy that he won. It wasn't good enough in his mind.

it was interesting to see.

"At the end of the day you gotta feel some way. So why not feel unbeatable? Why not feel untouchable? Why not feel like the best to ever do it?"

It is legitimate. Conor is the favorite, but people need to recognize:
a) that Conor is still a relatively young, inexperienced fighter
b) that young, inexperienced fighters OFTEN get derailed by wily, still relevant veterans

Look no further than Johnson-Diaz a few months ago. Johnson was on a high, significant favorite... and Diaz basically schools him. Look at Rory MacDonald vs. Lawler. Look at Nurmagomedov too. He's undefeated (i.e. "unbeatable"). That's not the case obviously.

So with McGregor-Diaz--who knows. What if Diaz gives him looks his young eyes have never seen? Or god forbid (for him), Diaz gets him down on the mat. Anything can happen man.

This fight will show whether McGregor has the power to knock out adult-sized men.

If Diaz gets this to the ground, McGregor could be in some trouble. Let's say that McGregor gets knocked down, taken down or has the guard pulled on him. Anything can happen in that scenario.

Nate has way better hands and that little reach is going to be the even bigger difference.

I was thinking, Nate Diaz has nothing to lose so I think he won't fight emotional in there.

Would cum in my pants to see Nate finish the fight ala Nick vs Gomi gogoplata.

I can see Nate getting rocked, falling back, with Conor going in for the finish and Nate grabs a hold of him and subs him.

I think Nate has the skills to win the fight with a sub, a tko or a decision, but who knows if he's ready with no camp. It's such an awesome fight under the right circumstances.

This fight is like the poirier fight and Mcgregor was close to getting knocked out imo, but he just BARELY dodged a punch with some crazy body head movement

A trained Nate diaz is a tough fighter a no camp Nate diaz is not

There are a lot of illusory advantages on Nates side - size, weight division, reach ext. They aren't going to mean much when the fight gets going though.

Nate is wide open to kicks, and doesn't have takedowns. That makes this a pure striker fight, where Conor will likely eat him alive. To fast, precise and varied. Also remember McG is getting wayyyy bigger, hes not going to look "weak" in strength against Nate.

In the offchance we get to see them grapple at all, things might be a little more interesting, but Nate has almost no paths to victory here.
I don't quite see it that way. Diaz has won almost every striking only contest. Look what he did to Cerrone. His losses come against wrestlers or excellent strikers with good takedown offense (though he was knocked out by Josh Thompson). I don't classify Mcgregor as either of those. As far as paths to victory, Nate is a 2 stripe bjjbb so... I guess I wouldn't call a submission win impossible. If I were forced to bet, I would pick Mcgregor early, but if it goes to the later rounds and he slows down at all, Nate's boxing will land.

Skillwise/Size wise Nate is the favorite. Fan wise, Conor McGoat
