McG haters keep on saying Nate Diaz is Dana's Easter present to Conor, another easy win on Conor's resume.Btw there are reasons which make me believe this will not be an easy fight for Conor, at all.
These are my points

1)Nate is tough and does not back down, he loves them striking wars and usually comes out victorious

2)Nate Diaz has one of the toughest chins in the sport and is very hard to finish

3)Nate is longer, bigger and heavier. Say what you want but McG was still fighting at 145 up to 2 1/2 months ago and he's fighting 2 weight classes above now. I feel he hardly has to cut any weight to fight at 170, whilst Diaz is probably cutting a good 10-15 pounds

4)In the UFC, we've seen Conor's power work well against 45ers, not against natural WWs who cut to LW

5)Conor's predictions are vague and he doesn't come across as confident as he used to. When's he's so certain about victory he usually describes violent finishes and scenarios, whilst he was very quiet about his next fight, saying stuff like "He cannot handle the ferociousness" or "the will does not meet the skill" etc.

6)Diaz can be very sneaky on his back and I can very easily see him luring McG into his guard after receiving a hard blow and "falling" ala Werdum. I do not think Conor will miss an opportunity to GnP

7)Nate has good hands, and is a specialist in turning technical fights into dog fights with that jab of his

There are many other reasons really, these came to mind.
I think the odds are actually in favor of Conor, do not get me wrong...he has a good 65% chance of winning I'd say. But let's not all act as if this is the easiest fight of his career, it probably is one of his toughest tests together with Mendes, whilst vs Aldo I knew the Brazilian would get lit up by McG's superb counterstriking

It's just a fight. No need to fret so much.

The only way Conor could lose this fight, is if he was troubled mentally and at a stage of his career which resulted in him doubting himself, which means its simply not possible for Conor to lose against Diaz.

You should worry. Both are skilled and can win. Let's just see how they match up. Conor has a lot of advantages though, faster, more power, great chin, great kicks. He's also very smart.

Nate is coming in basically with no camp and will be only a shell of his peak.

It is really a win win for fans. Win or lose, both will still be highly regarded.

Every fighter can be beaten, Conor is no different.

In an interview after the press conference, Conor said he felt the fight would end with a left uppercut.

Conor also has that deadly left hook that has knocked so many guys out. Has there ever been a feather weight with that kind of one-hit knock out power before?

you're not worthy

Conor said the left uppercut shall be the finisher, if I'm not mistaken.

There are a lot of illusory advantages on Nates side - size, weight division, reach ext. They aren't going to mean much when the fight gets going though.

Nate is wide open to kicks, and doesn't have takedowns. That makes this a pure striker fight, where Conor will likely eat him alive. To fast, precise and varied. Also remember McG is getting wayyyy bigger, hes not going to look "weak" in strength against Nate.

In the offchance we get to see them grapple at all, things might be a little more interesting, but Nate has almost no paths to victory here.

There is a reason right now
McGregor is -400

And

Diaz is +300

If Diaz gets to +400 or more I'll put $75 on him. I was going to invest some cash into McGregor but I rarely venture above -325.

As a Diaz fan I'm not as confident as I usually am. The only way I could see McGregor putting Nate away in the first round is on such short notice as this. I'm not saying I believe it will happen but I'm definitely not as confident as I normally would be. I really wish this fight could have gotten the full three-four months it deserves, not only for the chaotic and immensely entertaining buildup there would be but because there would be no possible controversy and isn't that what we should all desire?

Either way I just hope for a good fight and a clean finish on either side if it doesn't make it to the scorecards (which seems unlikely regardless.)

Relax Bruv, I'm far from a Conor supporter and even I'm picking and rooting for Conor in this fight.

Conor is a lock for this fight. Nate is inconsistent enough as it is, 10 day notice Diaz doesn't stand a chance.

it would be hilarious if Conor was almost finishing him via ground and pound but decides to let him back up so he can follow through with the prediction.

Good post and I agree with you. This is in no way an easy fight for McGregor. I hope he wins

At this point I don't care who wins or loses.

Win or lose its awesome to see two fighters go at it like this -shit like this needs to happen more often. Imagine if GSP and Anderson would have had the same attitude and fought one another.

I'm not a big Conor fan, but he is slowly winning me over. It's a breath of fresh air to see a champion with his attitude.

Relax! Both guys will be fine. Conor probably won't be able to get the ko, but Nate probably won't be able to drag him to the mat. I expect Conor to earn a UD by landing cleaner, harder shots.

Conor will TKO Nate Diaz during the last minute of the first round and continue his dominance. He will also become a two weight champion and reach that 100 million net worth as well. So there is no need to worry about Conor.
