I am an ex-Scientologist. (LONG read)

It depends on where you go from here.

Give yourself credit for OVERCOMING a powerful obstacle. How many people could do that and remain standing?

It depends on where you go from here.

Give yourself credit for OVERCOMING a powerful obstacle. How many people could do that and remain standing?

Standing and holding your head up high are two different things. I'm working on the latter now. But I need to fix what's inside of it first. And there was a lot of damage done.

As I mentioned before, twisted scientology solutions are my brains' initial "go-to guy" when certain problems arise. They are usually quite ego-driven. Actually, reading Eckhart Tolle has helped a bit. He know's a thing or two about paying attention to one's own ego.

Telling my parents was a big step for me last year. My mom is pretty much done with the Co$. Though, despite her absolutely HORRIFIC experience with them (and I mean it makes my leaving look like a cake walk. I can't even think about it without wanting to murder people with my bare hands), she still argues for it's "good intentions".

So she was cool about it. My dad is still quite active in the church. But to my surprise, he took it quite well. I think it's because he's found the bottle and chilled on being so self-righteous about it. He also basically admitted to me that he knew he fucked up our childhood, putting the church above our needs. Then he gave me his car so I could sell it for 12k (something I never asked for), to pay for relocating my girlfriend and I to a new job we had landed. Which was the one and only time he ever apologized for ANYTHING in his life... Or that I've seen anyway. He's a "I don't believe in weakness" kind of guy; with a splash of Tom Cruise and a shot of vodka. It's pretty funny sometimes. And I love them both very much. Uhhh... Not him and Tom Cruise. My mom and dad, I mean. I love my mom and dad! *whew* That was a close one. You cant say shit like that on sherdog without getting it shooped in your face.

But from that moment (of which I was prepared to never speak with him again), I knew I would never publish something until he died. But that's ok. I'm in no rush to get sued for everything anyway. lmao It's going to happen one day though. And I will invite Jake Rossen to take courtroom pics for his article called "What started in a dumped war room thread has now made it's way to civil court." Then there will be shoops.

Oh yes, there will be shoops. :icon_twis

But until that day comes, I'll be here with ya'll talking shit about Dana White and hugging Fedor's dirty Russian nut-sack. Speaking of nut-huggery... I gotta sleep before the Jon Jones fight. I can't friggen wait.

Hey bud! Congrats for finding the road to freedom. I figured I should send some real spiritual teachings, and hope it helps on your path.

86)Help must be sought in insight and patience, which is admittedly difficult unless for someone who is rich in the inner world (consciousness) and who does not walk along in submissiveness, but in truth, love, knowledge and wisdom.
87)Those who are certainly knowing will unceasingly meet truth and always find their way to it.
88)People of your kind (human beings) of Earth, always remember the good deeds of people of your kind (fellow human beings) which they presented or present to you, and do not raise yourselves up above them.
89)Fear untruth for it can never serve as an authorised one (substitute) and intercession for the real truth and it cannot offer any ransom, because it does not provide any help, but takes and destroys.

95)Thankfulness shall prevail for differentiating between right and unright (wrong), as well as between truth and untruth, so that everyone may be led in the right way.

97)The large mass of you does not want to know in any way and does not want to recognise the truth unless you can hold the things of truth in your hands, see them with your eyes and hear them with your ears, but the real truth of the real truth is not that of holding, seeing and hearing, rather it is that of the inner cognition through rationality and intellect as well as the true knowledge and wisdom that are fully free from beliefs.

99)The laws of the primal power (Creation) and the natural laws make clouds appear in the firmament and move from place to place because they bring water (rain) down, through which all kinds of edible things can thrive and all life is nourished, but people of your kind (human being) damage everything and thereby inflict the greatest harm on themselves.

102)Forgiving the errors and offences of people of your kind (fellow human beings) means showing equitableness (fairness) and doing good.
103)Only those without equitableness (inequitable ones/irresponsible ones/unjust ones) confuse the word of truth with lies, but liars cause unending damage to themselves with this because they have no true friends, only false friends who tell them only what they want to hear.
104)It is rightful to be truthful at all times and never to bring hardships on people of your kind (fellow human beings) and on Earth by creating lovelessness, unfreedom, dispeace, joylessness and discordance (disharmony).

113)The dead are not to be mourned, rather the living dead, who lead their presence in unknowing, unwisdom, lovelessness, unfreedom, dispeace and in inequality (disharmony), and are at odds with their life.

117)The light of truth is concealed by those who slaughter their next ones and yet argue about it in order to gain their own profit from it.
118)Do not beat the guilty ones, the criminals, the thieves, liars, deceivers and adulterers, and do not kill (murder) the manslayers (murderers) as a punishment for the crime committed on the killed (murdered), rather practise equitableness (justice) and demand atonement through application of the laws and recommendations of the primal power (Creation) which are not directed towards revenge, hatred and retribution but rather towards forbearance, forgiveness, reconciliation and benevolence (humanity), therefore every punishment shall only be given in true humanity, without harming life and limb, but so that the guilty ones understand the signs (warnings) of atonement and may rue the deed.

158)It was and is taught that everything shall be desisted from which does harm and has no use; whoever acquires such things nevertheless will not have a joyful portion in life; but it is true that so many sell their happiness and their gladness for awful things, for scum and all the disasters of the world because knowledge and truth is abhorrent to them.

Thanks for your story WillHaven. Hang in there and stay strong, I cannot imagine how hard this must all be for you. Glad I came to visit the dump today!

My question is, how do they get celebs like Tom Cruise et al to join Scientology? Surely they must be seeing a different Scientology than regular folk? Like, all the benefits without any of the pitfalls...

How much are celebs like this really involved in the organization, or is it just like another "cool club" for them to join?

Your first question of how they get celebrities to become Scientologists, is pretty simple. And it's probably what you were thinking. They basically take dead-aim. But not for the money. In fact ONLY someone from the "President's Office" is allowed to sell them ANYTHING in Scientology.

The "Office of the President" is a department of a specific church known as "Celebrity Centre International" or "CC Int" (yes, with the french spelling and all), located on an ungodly-valued property in Hollywood, CA. You can google it. The building looks like some place Daddy Warbucks would live. And while it is open to the general public, it's main purpose is to attract and service celebrities. Though they are kept completely out of sight.

The building has a special underground garage located directly underneath the public parking area. You must be cleared via security to enter it. The celebrity area of the church is can be reached this way. But only authorized personnel are allowed access. They even have an outdoor courtyard between the garage and the building, which has been shrouded in trees and various plants. And the only possible way you could view it, would be from the sky. It's actually a really nice set-up. Everything is extremely classy, from the furniture to the spa/gym where the "Purification Rundown" (hot sauna therapy) is done. They study in their own areas. The property already contains a 4-star restaurant and hotel, as well as a proper cafe. And last (but certainly not least), a slew of armed security, very similar to the secret service in style and design.

That is one function they primarily trust to experts in the field. See because let's say you were a small-arms specialist in the military (such as a navy seal), you aren't even allowed to receive scientology services due to the possibility of you being planted inside by the government or whoever could get to them. So yeah, they are there for one reason and one reason only... To stop anyone who comes looking for trouble, by ANY means available.

Just like Mario Majorski.

A guy who, in 2008 walked up to a group of those guards while dual-wielding katana swords. He never even made it out of the parking lot, where he was gunned down on the spot. And if I had to guess, I'd say he never meant to hurt anyone but himself. But what they won't tell you about Mario is the actual depth of his involvement with the church in the early 90's.

To me, there are two things that stand out about his history with the church.

#1. In 1990, Mario received some of the most expensive and "powerful" auditing sessions in Scientology, known as the "L-Rundowns" or "L's". These services are only available at the organization known as the "Flag Land Base", commonly referred to as "Flag". It was there, in the late 70's or early 80's where L Ron Hubbard first began this mega-church. And IT IS MEGA.

But mega-churches come with mega-prices. And it came with a price, both financial and moral. The first thing that was done was the offering of some "Advanced Services", not yet available to the public. Specifically the L's, of which there are three (L10, L11 and L12). The starting price these auditing sessions? At that time it was 10k per 12.5 hour package or "intensive". He did 2 of them (11 and 12). And I have NO clue how many intensives he had to buy to complete them. I'd say he spent at least 40 grand to get them done.

And just how do they sell people such lavish therapy? Simply by explaining to them that they can "be" (L12), "do" (L11) and "have" (L10) ANYTHING they want. That is, once they've finished the rundowns and unlocked the badass-within, they will never need worry about those issues again. And what a badass old Mario turned out to be, eh?

My favorite one would have to be L10. It's the one you do first. Keep in mind I never did any of that shit. But I mean, I have personally heard the most outrageous claims you can imagine as to it's effect. My favorite of these claims? There was a soap-opera actress who thought it was the sole reason she won a daytime Emmy. Not that it helped her acting at all. Just that she decided to "have" the award. And by this decision alone, they gave it to her? WTF? Funny how none of them have just "decided" to have the mega-lotto yet. What a joke.

Yeah. We are talking about some serious brainwashing here. And I'd just like to point out that, at the prices Mario was paying, along with the "red convertible" (unsure of make and model), which he drove to CC Int before being shot and killed... One would think that a pistol, in terms of affordability, would have been his first choice for a successful assassination or mass-homicide. If in fact that was the plan. You see where I'm going with this?

#2. I'll just quote this little tidbit I found on the net.

Majorski was a church member and student at UCLA in 1993 when he and a classmate sued a psychiatry professor and the university. The professor, Louis West, now deceased, was an expert on brainwashing and an outspoken critic of Scientology, which he dismissed as a "pyramid scheme." Suits filed in state and federal court accused West of activities, including speeches to anti-cult groups, that transgressed the separation of church and state and interfered with Majorski's practice of religion.

Both suits were dismissed, and court records indicate that Majorski's role was largely limited to providing his name as a plaintiff.

Majorski gave a quote about the matter to UCLA's Daily Bruin at the time, stating, "It is illegal and immoral for the University to provide tens of thousands of dollars of aid to West to try to destroy any religion. We intend to see that this is stopped." Records published in official Scientology magazines suggest that he had been taking courses at the church as early as 1990, and sleuths at Why We Protest have dug up some of his bankruptcy filings

We could play poker together... Then you'll find out how fast a fool and his money can part ways.

And I dont mean that in a funny way. I will take all of your money.

This is one of the best threads I've read in sherdog, why is it in the dump?
Really it makes no sense.

So what about my question? What is the deal with celebrities and Scientology?

Go back a page... :D

*continued*

Now, if you've read everything up to this point, you probably have a decent idea of why it is that the staff of the President's Office are the only ones that are allowed to sell anything $cientology-esq to celebrity figures.

Imagine the public relations nightmare that would occur if even ONE prominent celebrity had experienced anything close to the level of high-pressure sales that the rest are subject to. That isn't to say that once a celebrity hits the d-list, that they aren't treated like shit too. They are. But by that point, nobody gives a flying fuck what they think. And they are already so involved in the community (spanning many parts of Hollywood), not to mention COMPLETELY assimilated... that they would never say anything bad to anyone about the church.

*To be continued in...*

Part 2: "The role of the Scientology Celebrity."

I assume you have listened to the video confessions of Jason Beghe Willhaven, was wondering what your take on that was. Beghe is exactly the kind of celebrity you are talking about, was in for a long time, isn't A-list but still a respected longtime player in Hollywood. How big of a blow to the average scientologist was him going public?

HOLY SHIT!

ho...

ly...

shit!

I had no idea. Where is the interview?

I'm sure it had little to no effect, as he is far from prominent in the Hollywood community. Just one of many working actors.

HOWEVER...

THAT guy was in at least ONE scientology film, ONLY to be shown to SERIOUSLY advanced students of auditing.

And guess who got to see that shit anyway...

Oh just wait till I tell you the plot.

Edit incoming...

lmfao This is so cathartic.

brb

So there are these things called "Tech Films", referring to the technique of scientology auditing. They are required viewing for auditors in training. You remember that place called "Gold"? That's where they make them. Full-on Hollywood production.

And this one was called "The Auditor".

A sci-fi epic, written by none other than the master of sci-fi himself. Apparently he wrote them all. But specific instruction was given to the church, as to make them at certain times, or when certain special effects became available.

This one was finished when I was still in the Sea Org. So because of my position, I was able to view it. Actually, they MADE me watch it a few times. And my memory isn't too bad with regard to it's content.

This film in particular was only viewable by students of the most advanced training available to non-staff. It was called the "Saint Hill Special Briefing Course" or (take a wild guess) "SHSBC". You had to spend years in training just to get to it but MANY more years to get through it. Imagine the entire content of Law School, only you're learning Scientology.

They used the hype of the trailer to sell the SHSBC, with the film's newly-required viewing of the course. Once again, big money. The materials alone would cost you 20k. And another 25k to start.

SO...

This film was to show an example of "the perfect auditor".

It starred Ron Eldard as the Auditor. Actually, his title was a scientology "Chaplain". As in a minister-like figure of scientology. And yes this is a real job in a church. Just one of the ways Hubbard tried to directly rip off Christianity. Just so it would seem like scientology was more of a faith-oriented religion. The scientology minister wears a uniform similar to a catholic priest. And they even wear a silver cross that looks just like the one Jesus died on, only a little different. Like THIS.

I can see why Scientology was appealing to you!!

I was still an infant during my introduction to one of the worst cults in modern America. And I'm still a good person.

What's your excuse for being a shitty human being?

I can see how some of your Scientology training is hard to shake. "Always attack, never defend"...no disrespect but I think you know what I

GREAT post. Thanks for sharing. I'd like to hear the POV from someone into Scientology (not OSA or some other PR rep).
