I am an ex-Scientologist. (LONG read)

Can you explain exactly how they keep you there? Is it because of the paper work you sign, threats of violence, or emotional things like not wanting to leave your family?

I've never understood why people don't just walk out.

I see.

If you want to know our "beliefs" then read a book.
So you're going to just avoid my questions?

How convenient.

True, I think your belief system is a pyramid scheme, a scam, a cult, and a joke. I base this on what I've heard about it. I hope that you will come around to my way of thinking. But I can't just tell you that your beliefs are bullshit, you have to realize it for yourself.

By saying out loud the crap you believe, you're forced to own your beliefs in all their absurdity. And if what you believe isn't so crazy, what's wrong with explaining it?

Here they are again if you have the courage and conviction to answer them:

What's up with Xenu and the space alien bullshit?

Are there any thetans currently inside you?

How many thetans have been "exercised" from you?

Do you guys believe that shit went down in the Hawaiian Islands 75 million years ago? (Does it bother you that 75 million years ago, the Hawaiian archipelago didn't exist?)

Have you read Operation Clambake - The Inner Secrets Of Scientology ?

How close is the south park portrayal scientology to what you actually believe?

The Sea Organization is a place where one thing flourishes...

Mental abuse.

It takes a WHOLE LOT of balls to leave. Say what you want about the sci white belt... He's got balls.

And I actually did escape, the first time I left. But was convinced by my family to return and to continue to try and "route-out" on good terms, so as to not be blacklisted. 6 months later, I was out. I had to do hard labor every single day with no pay and received mandatory auditing sessions called "sec-checks" or "security checks". It's their method of trying to interrogate you, to find out what bad things you've done, in the hopes that unburdening you will make you want to stay. You have no choice in the matter. Either do it or face being blacklisted.

I think I answered that for him in my guess about what he would say or think about xenu and the OT III information.

A couple things here:

1. You think my belief system is a scam, a cult and a joke yet you clearly have no idea what my beliefs are. (Usually when I don't know something I simply say "I don't know.")

2. I've spent a lot of time in the past trying to explain my "beliefs" on the net. Found it to be a waste of time.

If you really want to know go to Official Church of Scientology Online Videos: What is Scientology, Scientologist Beliefs, Spiritual Healing with Dianetics and start there. Better yet read a book. I'd be more than happy to recommend a couple good ones to you.

Again, that's mighty convenient. I think I asked you mostly yes/no questions. How much time would it take to answer them?

You see, when you don't answer them, it makes you look really bad. And...what if you're right and I'm wrong? Aren't you missing and opportunity to clear up my misconceptions?

Why the secrecy?

I've read dianetics. I was not impressed.

Doesn't scientology seem like science fiction to you?

Great thread. One of the most interesting reads I have had on Sherdog. I have nothing to contribute but want this thread to be bumped. Thanks T/S.

If you were a German the 40's, you could find out about the Nazi Party from Hitler telling you about it. And with the power of suggestion, he might actually convince you that it was a good idea. But you could make a smart decision about it as an adult. That's a whole lot different than being Hitler's son. THAT'S brainwashing.

The Delphi school is a brainwashing institution. And if you think that even 10% of those kids are WOGs or "Worthy Oriental Gentleman" (sci term for all non-scientologist people of the world), I don't know what to say except...

BULLSHIT!

Oh you're welcome, America. :icon_chee

I fuckin LOVE John Hodgman of The Daily Show. Like "man-crush" style. Like it doesn't matter that he's acting as a shitty PC to sell Macs. It makes me love my shitty PC even more! You could call that the "opposite power of suggestion".

My question is for rnaviaux, does it upset you that the TS is a former member that is now sharing "priveledged" information with the masses? Also, if TS was a higher ranking member before his abandonment of your church, does that feel like a slap in the face, when you have been so devout, yet unrewarded?

The first thing you need to understand is, they look at it as "the younger you are, the better". If I would have joined at 13 I would have been moved to "upper-management". That's where you're talking about secret bases. They tried to move me up when I joined at 17, but I didn't qualify because I tried pot when I was 15.

No, they like BLANK slates. So there is not a single person who is up there that isn't fully brainwashed. That way they don't risk leaks of the REAL confidential stuff. There is one upper-management org called "Archives". They are seriously making time-capsules with titanium plates instead of paper. Putting them deep underground in case of worldwide fallout. So that even if the nukes go off, scientology survives.

And no, Golden Era Productions is not one of them. Though they try to keep the location secret from the church members. I remember one time in the Sea Org, they piled about 30 of us into a room with a high-level executive. They gave us all a pen and paper and said to write down, AND NOT TO DISCUSS ALOUD, whether we knew the location of the Gold Base. Which is, just so you guys know, in San Jacinto, California.

You guys need to take it easy on rnaviaux. Trust ME when I tell you that he lives in a prison of thought. And while everyone should totally have the right to believe WHATEVER they want to believe... He does not yet understand that the organization he supports and loves, is guilty of many, many daily atrocities.

He believes he still owns the respect of the Sea Organization after leaving. And straight from the horses mouth (Hubbard), he has no such thing. They just want his free money and support.

And the reason I'm calling all his "no-answer answers" (something they train you to do in scientology), is because they only make scientologists one way... Just like rnaviaux.

I know his answers because I WAS him. Even years after I left, I found myself defending the Co$ the EXACT SAME WAY as he is defending it now. It's not till you take the plunge and find out the truth, that you can free yourself from this prison.

There was a Tool song that went "Fuck L Ron Hubbard! Fuck all his clones!"

I couldn't disagree more.

Fuck L Ron Hubbard!

God help his clones.

xenu.net

xenu.net

(Yet further "TR3", in an effort to see if scientology works)

For god sakes rnaviaux, go to xenu.net.

IT CAN NOT HURT YOU.

And I mean that with love.

Answer this man's questions.

Answer this man's questions.

He cannot. He has not reached OT level 3 yet.

When I was making millions of dollars for the church (via a loophole, I might add), I had no fucking clue about xenu. I had never even heard of him. Not once. Ever. Not before I saw the south park episode. It saved me in every way a man can be saved. Not right away though. My mind resisted it at first, as I was taught to at a very young age. But soon enough, I wanted to find out how deep the rabbit hole REALLY went. And I've never looked back.

Let's hope he can make the same leap of faith. It's a faith in yourself that you will be ok, no matter what you find out. And it's easier said than done.

I used to share the Xenu handle with a couple other posters on these boards.

http://www.sherdog.net/forums/members/xenu/

I'll go easy on the scientologist.

Awesome!

P.S. Thanks for taking it easy.

In all likelihood, rather than listen to a word I've said, he'll report this whole thing to the Co$. As it is obvious I am no common critic.

And make no mistake, he will receive many brownie points for weeding out this traitor. Which, as you can tell from his earlier posts, is something he enjoys. That is, earning respect from the Sea Org after leaving it.

I've seen it all before.

Awesome post.

Congrats on getting out. I appreciate what you wrote and the courage it must take to speak out.

On another note, where are on the Central Coast are you?
Monterey here.

Enjoying carmel by the sea?

i just find it hilarious people follow a guy like hubbard who was a science fiction writer. He made shit up for a living. With multiple accounts of him telling people he wanted to start a religion for money, it amazes me how people follow this shit, when it seems like that is exactly what they are after. If there is a place that exists after you die, i wonder if he is looking down at all the people who follow his religion and laughing his tits off because he made it up. i

i did watch a documentary on tv with a young woman who was blacklisted and can no longer see her family.. so i can understand how hard it is to get out. i wish i could find it because it also had some c level actor who was a former scientologist say a way that they keep you in is that they get you to admit stuff in those therapy sessions.
