Wildly entertaining thread about a very random hypothetical fight that i've never thought about and probably never will again after this post.. Good shit Sherdog.
I just feel like Poatans big weapons would be sooner and more likely to get the advantage earlier than Rumble's would, completely concelaed seamless calf kick's/jab's/straight's, where as Rumble's biggest KO's required shit loads of explosive effort and energy to get or often were kinda more due to some really shoddy strike defence imo, like he had this jerky way of finding his range that was really effective but it's hard for me to imagine Poatan hasn't seen that kinda pressure fighter shit in his Kickboxing days, Rumble also loved that devastating left headkick and gnarly uppercut's, but both these techniques in my head are way harder to pull off clean against a 6 ft 4 striking phenom... Obviously when you have power like these dudes it's, as someone else said basically two tanks, as obvious as it sounds I really do think the details around like game-planning, training camp and mental state/confidence could make the difference in a situation like this, or maybe you get Ngannou vs Lewis timidity.
I'd also like to see Poatan and Yoel Romero have a Flying Knee only contest in a phone-box.
