HW GOAT?

1. Cain
2. DC
3. Fedor
4. JDS
5. Stipe

Skill wise, I would not agree.

But record wise DC only fought 1 top 3 HW opponent (Stipe). The rest were solid but not very top fighters like Mir, Barnett, Big Country and Bigfoot.

Cain's does not have enough fights and most of his peak was spent on JDS and Bigfoot fights. Then there is a win over Lesnar and a loss to Werdum.

Not sure how Cain is on lists, let alone topping.

He spent 5 fights of his prime fighting the same 2 people over.

Way too much time injured.

Too many x factors in Cain's legacy to have him up there.

I was banned on a 10 year account after a blackout whiskey night and posted a porn pic or something years ago. Had to restart.

It's also my second account. First was in 2003.

Simply put: Anyone claiming it is anyone but Fedor simply did not watch his fights in Pride.

right now between Fedor and Stipe for me (slight advantage to Fedor), but Francis can change that, the problem he has its no good opponents right now, HW is s**ty division nowdays

I’ve never stated that. Fedor, Big Nog and CroCop could still be competitive today. I would favour Ngannou, Stipe and Gane to beat them though

Gane.... He's not proven yet. Stipe I'm on the fence because he beat aged HW . Francis is probably the best bet because his pure power and speed.

Francis however has terrible ground game and striking defense. He better not get ko by someone like lewis. That will hurt his career very badly lol.

What hurts stipe is that he fought HW with an average of 11yrs + with multiple losses and no where near their primes during his run.

Fedor fought his competition when he was young and they were young too. They didn't have the crazy wear and tear mma gives you.

Cain is not even top 5 lol. Come on man.....Cain at #1 and Stipe at #5?? Who are you trying to fool here.

Because Prime Cain mauls every HW ever outside of a punchers chance, given that it's HW.

I agree with Fedor, I like Cain as the greatest HW ever.

come on my friend, this is nothing more than speculation. Prime Cain got beaten in every way by werdum and finished.

Cain was a very talented fighter but fact is we literally have less 10 fights to judge his legacy by and he lost two of those.

JDS beat a prime Cain, not Werdum. You must also believe Werdum beat a prime Fedor and Nog. Also not true.

You're right, he is talented. The best MMA wrestler ever at HW, has the best cardio in MMA history at HW, decent striking, black belt in BJJ ect. Nobody is beating him outside of a punchers chance imo.

Fedor. Stipe Nog Werdum DC JDS in conversation. Francis also on the cusp.

Fedor is easily GOAT. Almost everybody in HW now is a one dimensional striking fighter. The one or two that have other skills are weak on striking. Fedor would submit everyone of these guys in his prime form. Only a couple of them would have a clue on how to defend once it goes to the ground.... and it would definitely go to the ground versus prime Fedor.

Stop it, please. This Cain myth needs to end. And yes, Werdum beat a prime Cain, let's not start bending the truth here. Werdum beat a fairly prime Fedor, but Nog was over the hill by that point.

He was not the best mma wrestler at HW, Cormier among others were that. He was certainly not the best grappler as there are many who were better. And he didn't even have the best cardio. Guys like Cormier, Barnett, Big Nog, Fedor had just as good if not better in some cases.

Again. it's all speculation. And that means nothing when determining who the best was. You go by actual accomplishments.

There hasn't been a talented MMA Heavyweight so I'll go with Overeem based on physique.

CroCop and Nog were definitely in their prime and by far are the best Fedor's wins. But fighters like Coleman, Randleman, Big Tim were over their primes. Arlovski was also in his prime but he always had chin questions and actually looked really good early in the fight. Fedor also has a bunch of cans on his record.

Ngannou and DC are just as good of wins on Stipe's record as Nog and CroCop. Yes, Stipe lost the second Ngannou's fight but he is old now. He has a loss to Struve and an avenged close loss to JDS which is the reason why he cannot be clearly ahead of Fedor.

Ngannou of now and Cro Cop when he fought Fedor are close record wise, I agree, they have almost the same record.

But while DC is a great p4p fighter it's not quite the same for him at HW. Before facing Stipe DC was 13-0 at HW while being 5 years away from the division. Nog was p4p #1 and undisputed HW champ during and 5 fights earlier to the first Fedor fight. Then you add Nog's whole HW career to it compared to DC's. It's why Nog is regularly put higher on HW lists for fans who know both careers. There is a difference.

There is the 30-0 across 9 years, like you said. It has been impossible to do at HW. Stipe's the only guy who's had good level of dominance in the UFC, yet his longest win streak is 6. The rest can't string together a 5-fight win streak on a top level. Or just a 10-15 fight win streak if you remove the fillers Fedor had.
