Hugh Jackman denies steroid use for Wolverine

Can confirm.

That fucking movie is so great.

Hugh Jackmans physique never seemed that far out of reach to achieve naturally. Don't get me wrong, he was diced. But non of it was abnormal mass, he was in great shape and shedded water weight off the top
Most people that do steroids don't even look abnormally big. There are people in commercial gyms that use and don't look like they use.

The issue is the putting on muscle and seemingly losing it when you aren't in a role. You don't gain muscle and lose it then gain it back in your mid 50s. Anything from losing weight to gaining muscle isn't a 6 month thing. It creates unrealistic expectations for regular people.
"Hugh Jackman says it will take 6 months to get in shape for 'Deadpool 3,' marking the 10th time he's bulked up to play Wolverine"

This is the whole point. People acting like you can just get shredded\jacked in your mid 40's in a year. Yea fucking right. His fucking shoulders. You don't get shoulders like that in a fucking year at 40.

It takes time to get in shape. Naturals do exist but they have been at it for a long time. It's not something they choose to drop and pick back up. Gaining or losing weight isn't a fast process. Even really super fat people don't get that big in a short time. It took years to get there but everyone thinks they can lose 150 lbs a year.

Quirky and zany disingenuous bullshit to distract.

Come on man, it was pretty funny. If he just made that up for laughs, that makes me appreciate it even more.

You didn’t know this but your genes affect how your body responds to steroids.
Same way that some people drink a lot and handle it and some people drink a little and get totaled.
Steroids don’t guarantee results.

Plenty of guys on gear look like shit. Also lots of natty guys ripped to shreds. Jackman could be on gear but his physique is possible natty, assuming he was starting with good genetics and a decent base. He was a dancer/stage performer for years before making it big, so he was starting from an athletic lifestyle with his diet already dialed in. He doesn't look crazy huge in his wolverine scenes - he looks like a regular-sized dude who spent 6 months getting very lean by being very disciplined with diet and training, and then got the hollywood treatment for his scenes via lighting, angles, CGI etc.

sure bro
everybody gets bigger in the mid 40s the natty way

I did. Switched to powerlifting focus in my 40's after 20+ years focused on combat sports, cardio and upper body bro splits. Heavy squats and DL can pack on a ton of muscle even in your 40's and 50's assuming you're eating and sleeping properly. I even did a dbol cycle in my 20's but doing it natty in my 40's was more effective.

Now cutting down as lean as Jackman takes discipline. He would have lost some muscle mass doing that. Could have used gear but definitely possible natty in your 40's if he had 6 months to do it, starting from a healthy base and was very disciplined.

I agree that he probably wasn't on any sort of androgynous hormones to get that physique.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if he was on some sort of ped to get that shredded for the role. Kind of like Zac Efron for Baywatch. He probably was on some sort of diuretic or lasix. Hell maybe even clen. It's amazing what getting peeled can do for someone who isn't that big physique. Makes you look, especially with the right lighting, much bigger than you really are.
I've heard Michael Jai White say something similar in an interview. I don't remember the exact movie but he said he gets asked a lot about his physique in it and people think he was huge. It was actually the smallest he had ever been but by far the most shredded so he looked 30 lbs bigger on camera.

So I was just looking it up and Jackman is 6'2" and weighed 185 during the filming of wolverine. So yeah, I stand by what I said and what White said is correct too. Jackman may have been on peds to help him cut, but carrying that amount of lean mass on a 6'2" frame isn't that crazy. He looks much bigger in screen than he really was.

I may be wrong but I think he is natural with CGI enhancements. I look the same at 50 as I did at 40. I have maintained. I have 50 year old friends that are genetic freaks that have that size and vascularity. I think it could go either way. I would need TRT to look like that no matter how I trained or dieted. But not everyone would.

Muscularity = looks bigger... Like a lean muscular 17" arm vs a flabby 20" arm

Here's the thing.....what's a "steroid" and what's a "supplement".

He can say he wasn't on steroids or something but just used supplements instead. Is HGH a supplement? Is TRT a supplement or steroid? It's semantics.

I am not going to bro science any of this stuff.

I think he has probably used PEDS but I can't know for sure and I don't think that it is a big deal one way or the other.

I have met him in person and he is not a big guy but things look different on screen.

Guy Pierce is another Aussie example. That dude is skinny in person and then he got big looking for like one film (the B movie about saving the President's daughter from an orbiting prison satellite).

the simplest explanation is that there is some gear involved but you never know. PEDS work, there is no testing, and the rewards for being cast in a movie are large.

I had an ex-gf who got a role in a film that required her to get into great shape for the camera. they assigned her a trainer. really really strict diet but the workouts were pretty normal. she was supposed to get 15K steps a day and worked out with trainer 5 times a week. nothing special. she was already in great normal-person shape (think fit girl in LA yoga class). she definitely got leaner and way more cut looking during the program. in real life, most people would have preferred her normal physique but they wanted a super chiselled look for the film. she was never offered PEDS but her role was pretty minor (and unfortunately got cut out of the movie entirely by the time it was in the theatre)

If I was a betting man, I'd say he took........something. But 6'2" @185lb is actually not big at all. Hell, I'm 5'11" 185lb (not quite as shredded as Hugh) and I'm not "big".

That being said, I went through a pretty major body transformation myself at age 47~48, all natural, and without being a multi-millionaire with access to a 24/7 personal trainer and chef. So it's not remotely out of the realm of possibility that he did it naturally.

If he does or he doesnt, i dont really care. Its not like its something that affects anyone else.
