How'd Rumble KO Glover so easily?

most of a fighters power comes from the way they throw punches. proper power punching technique should look like someone throwing ropes with rocks on the end of them. guys like johnny walker, robbie lawler, paul daley, or gerald mcclellan, julian jackson, bob foster, and tommy hearns in boxing.

there are also guys with just god given power who don’t really throw with powerful technique and you tend to see those fighters get less KO’s when they move up in weight. think jessica andrade or wanderlei silva.

rumble was a devastating combination of both.

Gerald McClellan, Julian Jackson had the touch of death.

HOW?!?!?

He was FREAKING RUMBLE JOHNSON, that's how.

Rumble had TERRIFYING power. Name one fighter that wasn't afraid to stand and bang with Rumble? I can name ONE.

Anthony "Rumble" Johnson. Even his own SHADOW feared his power.

Now tell me how I'm wrong?

i can name a few fighters who weren’t afraid to stand and bang with rumble. basically all of them got KO’d but at least they weren’t scared <Lmaoo>

What people are saying about rumble is true but also Glover just recently learned how to roll with the punches. Not only did he not roll with rumble's shovel, which is arguably the most power generating punch, his head didn't not move back from the impact at all. So he absorbed the full impact of that blast.

Rolling makes a huge difference. The Glover of today would beat the young Glover and probably rumble as well.

Lol. No way.

Hill doesn't possess the punching power that Rumble had.

I can't think of anyone that had the kind of scary power at LHW that Rumble had.

There'sa very few special guys with just evil in their hands that just hurts their opponents even when the block the punch. They come along once or twice in a generation.

Ernie Shavers, Rocky Marciano, Julian Jackson and Tommy Hearns had it in boxing.

Mark Hunt, Badr Hari and Ramon Dekkers had it in kickboxing.

Francis Ngannou, Rumble and Hendo had/have it in MMA

Rumble had "Sonny Liston" power levels.

Rumble had crazy power like Ngannou and Wilder. Such a shame we never get Jones vs any of the terrifying hitters of the MMA world. I favor Jon over Rumble but it would still be very interesting.

Jon vs Francis not getting made is arguably the biggest miss in MMA history.

Wilder is on an entirely different level than Rumble and Ngannou.

Rumble was probably the hardest hitter at LHW ever. That’s how.

Rumble had insane power. Plus it didn't help that Glover kind of ducked/lowered his head into it, on top of not seeing that uppercut coming.

Everybody at the bar I was at looked at each other with for Glover. Brutal...

He once did an interview saying "he puts his ass in it". Uses alot of his core to generate the pop

LOL I remember when Bader was talking all of that shit about Rumble being "mentally weak" going into their fight, and then he started panic wrestling at the opening bell before getting blasted unconscious.

Rumble was great.

That was probably the best example of panic grappling I’ve ever seen.

Glover can take a beating. I know he rolls more to avoid damage, but Hill landed some huge shots and had him cut up. I don't buy that a man can take more damage as he ages. Was Rumble just that much of a beast?
Rumble had the power and the 'Mike Tyson aura'. Bader took a shot from the other side of the ring. He flatlined Glover and destroyed Gus. He was a recking ball. Those were fun times.
