Forget PED talk for a bit since it muddies the waters too much. If the Jones we saw before showed up against Rumble I think 9/10 times he breaks Rumble down with smart wrestling and clinch work, and then subs him in the second.


Rumble could crack him but Jones has shown a very good chin, and Rumble doesn't handle adversity well. Love the guy as a fighter, but Jones has the tools others have used to beat Rumble in the past, and more.

Jones wins everywhere, will stay at range in the striking and kick Rumbles legs and knees and body kick him a lot too, and be way too creative and fast for Rumble. Eventually taking Rumble down who will be exhausted and choke him out round 2 or 3. I would bet Jones without doubt.

Its such a shame we'll never get to see this fight, i still can't get over Rumbles tactics in the second DC fight, it was almost bad enough to be classed as throwing the fight, his one shot at winning was his striking and power and instead he tried out wrestling an olympian, I've never been so pissed in my life ha.

Yeah I think Jones would be the rightful favorite. He's such a phenom, and his heart and grit are, as you say, on a completely different level to Rumble.

Yet, Rumble's style would definitely be very dangerous for Jon. Jones has an incredible chin, but it's never been tested to the extent Rumble would. Rumble has never been outstruck at 205 and is extremely fast and powerful. It's a bad matchup for Jones.

Its definitely the most interesting fight for Jones at LHW in this era, if he gets Rumble down obviously you'd fancy him to win but equally his boxing defence is dodgy and Rumble has the reach/speed to land on him from range plus significantly more power than Gus and DC.

Jons reach would be a big factor. I think if anything Jon takes him down if he is in trouble standing.
