How would prime usman do in today's 170

These 170s are a different breed, light heavyweights fighting at 170. Guys like George would have eventually gotten wrecked simply because of the size-to-skill ratio and difference. The average height of Georges opponents was like 5ft5. Usman is still part of the newer fighter in today's equation and he would probably be a top contender.

Lol, Hendricks wouldn’t be top5 in this division, maybe not even top10
The Hendricks that went toe to toe with GSP would. High level wrestling, legit one punch KO, tough, special supplements and big for the division.

He was an undicplined mess but at his peak, he was a championship level fighter. At his low, he was fat and getting knocked out by gay pornstars though

Prime Hendricks would put Usman’s lights out. Prime PigRigg was a beast.

Prime Usman? This Usman might land some GSP / Serra punch and become champion again...

Islam
Jdm
Morales
Garry
Prates
Edwards
Brady
Belal
Shavkat.

We got a stacked division today. How do we think prime usman or prime Colby would have done.

Leon kicked him into oblivion and won the rematch. Half or most of those men beat him.

Of course your retarded ass would think that.

Islam struggled to take down Poirier, a dude whose TDD is famous for being average at best. He also struggled to keep FW Volkanovski down. Prime Usman stuffs the takedowns, out-muscles him against the fence and breaks him with cardio. Usman also has a punch power unlike Islam.
True for Prime K-1 Usman. Curious about today's version...

He beats all of them imo. Guys like Prates or Morales would get wrestlefucked, and guys like Brady, Islam, etc would get broken down by his pressure on the feet over 5 rds.

It's not like he's some old Pride guy you have to dig up and place into the modern MMA scene, he was just champ like 3 years ago and fought the current MW champ 2 years ago.

Islam beats him, Garry would beat him more often than not, Shavkat would be a 50/50 fight, JDM would have a chance, and he beats the others.

We wont have to wait too long to find out LOL.

UFC 328 ISLAM VS USMAN ...

If Ali has his way... That is

Hendricks could hit as hard as anyone currently at 170 and had very solid wrestling when he wanted to use it. He had two 5-round fights with Lawler where he displayed pretty diverse striking for a wrestler as well.

Recency bias is a thing here.

It's hard to say when prime Usman was because he was almost a pure wrestler through the Woodley fight where he won the belt. Then he stood both fights with Colby (where Usman won pretty close fighting due to a size/strength advantage). He held Masvidal against the cage (hardly any ground action as I recall), then KO'd both Masvidal and Burns in stand-up fights. Maybe he wrestled again some in the Edwards fights (hard to remember some of those snoozefests)? But honestly, I don't remember him wrestling much at all again until Buckley, except defensive wrestling in Round 1 vs. Khamzat.

So is prime Usman the early wrestler or a sprawl-n-brawler who suddenly developed KO power kind of late in his career? Many here think his knees went bad so that's why his style suddenly changed.

what's with people spamming the word "prime"?

prime usman would do exactly as well or bad as usman.
they are the same person.

what you mean is, how does usman's best lifetime performance stack up against the division now.
that's impossible to say, because every opponent is different.
