The fact that *Champion & *Top 3 are only constituting 78% of the vote proves that 22% of Sherdog is fucking delusional.
Yes and no. He answered throughout his career does he have the most coveted desired skillset. He answered how does he fair against adversity and he answered could he win at HW. The question only remains how many HW’s can he beat to convince the remaining people that don’t have him already greatest that he is the greatest HW. As a Jones fan I’m leaning towards let it go homie lol.
Truly all Jones fights excite me but anything he does from now on is like a fragment of the magical time of prime Jones. It’s like watching a guy coming out to put on a show you know there is no way in fuck it will be as good as the show 10 years ago and probably not 5. Will always be a big fan but unlike you Fedor boys encouraging his Bellator run lol I encourage know when to fold em and this may be the time
Sorry to burst your bubble but Heath Herring wasn’t a great a fighter. With all his experience in the “premier org.” Fighting the “best fighters in the world.”, yet couldn’t beat a pro wrestler who was green in his 3rd MMA Fight and got embarrassed.Heath Herring didnt.
So 3 time hw champ Randy Couture isnt great either??Sorry to burst your bubble but Heath Herring wasn’t a great a fighter. I dont think he should have come back, but he DID,so WAR FEDOR until the bitter fuckin end.you Fedor boys encouraging his Bellator run lol I encourage know when to fold em and this may be the time
Jailton Almeida weighs 230 and is having a picnic with these "advanced modern heavyweights". For fucks sake, Tuivasa was in the top 5 recently, a high scholl wrestler that DC brought to AKA easily pin that bum down. How can you guys write this stuff with a straight face? You folks gotta be honest. How many 230lb HWs are there in the UFC. He isn't a tall guy either. The beauty of Fedor is him being the smaller man but finding a way to win with better technique. The skill gap isn't that big anymore. The guys are even bigger nowadays.
Of couruse you "can't blame him" for playing it safe. You are his fanboy.Weight classes do matter however there aren’t many HW’s with better mma wrestling than Jones even if partially stifled against larger men. His striking and ability to read his opponent is probably better than any HW. The hilarious thing that you Jones doubters and haters don’t get is that as a Jones fan he waited too damn long to move up and definitely isn’t a much greater fighter than his prime. He had the skills to rule HW many years ago. His biggest mistake was he played it smart and safe in a sense. I can’t blame him it is what it is
It doesn't look good on paper now but back then things went from big is stronger, to very big, to huge and then back to around 230lbs really good ones. Which made us think that size stops mattering after 220 pounds and is more about skill at that point.Crazy that most voters say Fedor would be champ - in terms of size, Fedor was more of an LHW at 6ft and 233lbs with no cut. Guys like Rakic and Jiri are substantially taller and cut from that weight or heavier down to 205
IMO Jones, Pavlovich and Aspinall would certainly beat prime Fedor, Gane probably as long as he brought his TDD from the Spivac fight, and I'd bet on Jailton Almeida as well. I'd say Stipe too but maybe not the washed 41y/o Ngannou-starched version of Stipe
Jailton is still an untested product. We are talking about winning the championship. Is Tai really that close to winning or he has been beat down every time he climbed up? You are talking about Fedor who had issues controlling a green Hunt. Was he in his decline then? You mentioned a high school wrestler. Does Fedor use double legs or singles? You should really think about what you are writing.Jailton Almeida weighs 230 and is having a picnic with these "advanced modern heavyweights". You asked for one. I gave you one and now you are moving the goalpost because you don't know how to get out of that hole you digged yourself into. Says a lot about you. No reason to think that Gane would stop Almeida from doing to him what he has done to the rest of the division. Almeida is a 230lbs who is taking advantage of how weak and one dimensional modern heavyweights are.Jailton is still an untested product. We are talking about winning the championship. Jailton is a LHW who doesn't want to cut to HW. You act like everyone else is like him. He is just made it to the 9th or tenth spot. Let's be honest here. You are the one being dishonest about this whole situation. You act like Jailton hasn't lost grappling matches to MWs recently. You can tag me and I will eat crow when he gets past Blaydes. You asked for one. And about Tai. Really? You really want to go there? A high school wrestler easily pins him down and you want to imply that a russian judo champion like Fedor wouldn't have been able to because "he doesn't shoot double legs" like him? LMAO. Dude I'm thinking what I'm writing, maybe you should try that too...
what version of these champs are u telling me he beat ?So beating two former UFC world champs in USA isnt enough for you?
jones proved hes the best fighting steroids era and post steroids eraThere really is alot of unanswered questions about Jones at HW despite the shiny belt.

prime fedor lost left and right in a drug testing org like strikeforce
your delusional
your delusional
dudes best wins where nog and cro cop
big nog cant even beat frank mir lmao
frank mir who had an injury from a bike accident
mir was basically on a disadvantage
u telling me fedor can beat these guys if theres drug testing?
He was less effective for two reasons.
Yet his body & muscle mass was unchanged, so he wasn't on PEDs as you Fedor-haters like to conclude he was.
He was less effective for two reasons. He fell in love with striking and forgot his grappling was his bread&butter, and his age. He had a LONG career already by the time he fought in strikeforce, so like Cain his prime was much earlier in his career unlike many HWs which their 30s are their prime years.
Your grammar teacher failed you.
... in Pride, where they had the best HW roster in the history of the sport. Saying those two were his best wins as if that's an insult shows your level of delusion.
I'm telling you you're in no position to make an argument about anything when you don't know how to use your SHIFT key.
