How will Trump supporters rationalize this?

Last I checked Trump wanted to end DACA, but today he tweeted this:

"Does anybody really want to throw out good, educated and accomplished young people who have jobs, some serving in the military? Really!"

and this:

"They have been in our country for many years through no fault of their own - brought in by parents at young age"

This is confusing even for schizophrenics.

You bleeding heart liberals ate so stupid.
Trump is talking about the compassionate thing to do here, not the logical.

Bleeding heart liberals bypass studies on over population or economic strain and are driven by compassion.
And that is extremely dangerous.

In greece and italy, small towns barely getting by the last 20 years were told to accept refugees out of compassion.
And the results are it destroyed what little that then had.

In my area Obama and liberals using compassion rather then logic let too many illegal alien children in the state.
The results are a direct rise in ms13 and schools are over filled.

They didnt think about classroom size before this mess. And that is how bleeding heart liberals think they are that doing good when they do more damage.

To be fair, I know a lot of Republican supporters who treated him as the lesser of two evils rather than a candidate they really wanted. Granted, plenty also treated him like the messiah, spamming pictures of him standing on a American flag coloured tank with a machine gun wielding eagle flying over him, but I think there was always a bit more of a split opinion about the guy than most more traditional Republican candidate.

The people posting the tank pictures really should be outraged right now - and the people on the Left who have been freaked out about the guy should be taking a step back and even lightly clapping rather than taking this as an opportunity to rub salt in the partisan wound. Whenever you wonder why our country is such a partisan shit show, if you have taken something like this whole Dreamer thing as an opportunity to gloat, well, look in the mirror for your answer - because you're a partisan shit show.
Good post.

MAGA=Make America Great Again

That's what I voted for, because we need to get better. It seems like he's either getting things done or working towards that.

And like I said, democrats should be happy about that.

I'm happy he's unable to implement any of the garbage policies he sold you rubes.

He's a politician, does his dishonesty suprise anyone?

Well, what is your problem with his negotiations with the democrats on this issue? Are you unhappy about it?

I think it's more interesting to get your take on it. It contradicts everything that Trump said about illegal immigrants during the campaign. So why the sudden change of heart?

I'm confused... you support Trump on this or not?

He's a politician, does his dishonesty suprise anyone?

This is less about Trump himself and more about his supporters.

Can you be specific and make a specific example of what you're talking about?

It's beyond pathetic. They're just a bunch of sycophants really.

I would disagree a bit and say that Trump did have some ideas/themes in his campaign (whether you agree with them or not is another debate). Tough stance on immigration was certainly one of the central tenets, but it seems his supporters didn't actually care about that issue either. They just wanted the MAGA hat and the feeling of belonging to a team.

The irony of this post and this thread is that it's about how Trump voters are just looking for an enemy to rally against and don't care about the substance of policies. But this thread and this comment are devoid of any discussion of immigration policy and instead are just rallying against the Trump voters, who are malleable enough to be whatever you hate. You are projecting.

Mass deportations is an issue Trump cannot win on, at least not yet. The swamp is too deep still; the Dems depend on illegal immigrants for votes, the Republicans depend on them for cheap labor. The only way to deport them all is to reform both parties first.

Just the like military industrial complex or the Israel/Saudi alliances, these things are bigger than the president. That's why Bannon said it's going to take an all out war lasting years, if not decades, to slowly replace the business model known as the swamp.

What do you believe he sold to me?

And you seem pretty angry this morning Ed.

He sold you a bunch of ignorant policies that will harm our country. I'm not angry, I'm disappointed that so many people like you want to harm our country.

It's called attempting to balance out an important issue.

Yet another anti-Trump thread...yawn.

I don't think Trump is harming the country. I think he's gonna work with democrats here to get something done.

Trump said that illegal immigrants have to go back. "We're going to have big wall with a door where people can come in legally!" he would say.

Reasonable critique = hate

??

Well some illegals will have to go back, and obviously he's gonna keep some of them.

It's a tough issue here and Trump is willing to work with democrats and come up with a compromise. That may likely be the most positive step for our country. So I think some of the democrats/liberals here need to chill.
