BTW BJJScout is one of the best MMA based Channels on Youtube. He interacts with his fans well, posts great content, and has super thorough technique and fight(er) breakdowns. You are doing yourself a disservice as a hard-core fan of MMA if you have not subscribed to his channel.

TL;DR Cliff Notes:
  • Holloway is likely the best overall striker that Khabib has faced and arguably even the best fighter.
  • Footwork is superb, won't run backwards like Barboza.
  • Better counter-striker than Barboza. Bull-rushing Max is dangerous.
  • Switches stances frequently to get better shots in.
  • Take-down Defense is much better. Against the cage utilizes wrist-control and whizzer/ collar tie to escape.
  • Guillotine threat (admittedly probably won't work against Khabib, but will aid TDD)
  • Great Cardio. Just needs to survive first 3 rounds to push Eagle

Thank you for the cliffs TS.

pretty good insight from BJJscout. I think max's circular movement combined with his hand speed and khabib's recklessness in shooting for TD's gives him a much better chance than most people are giving him. Odds should be more around +220--+250 Max

God...I hope the weight-cut isn’t too much.

I would LOVE to be surprised by this fight.

I’m getting excited for this.

I think full camp Max has a chance, 6-days notice Max not so much. Don't think there are a lot of worse opponents to take on 6 days notice.

Why isn't BJJ Scout taking into account this is on 6 days notice coming off mobility related injury pull out on the last PPV card?

For my money that's by far the important point he should address. How primed, full camp Holloway does againts Khabib is completely irrelevant in this situation.

How much did the baldfather pay BJJ scout for that video?

Well, it seems as though he still expects Khabib to win, but the point of the video was just to show that Max probably stands more of a chance than a lot of people give him credit for.

We can only hope Max has been training this entire time and not just 1-2 weeks out from the fight.

Khabib makes fighters back up even if it's not their norm by rushing forward and cutting any angles. Most people that get into grappling with him don't have horrible foot work or a history of back peddling.

That video was made by one of the best MMA channels on youtube? Competition must be very thin. I automatically close anything with a computer-generated voiceover. Real amateur hour stuff.

I have to agree that Max is likely one of the more dangerous fighter that Khabib has faced however I just can't get the factors that are going to be playing against Max out of my head.

Stepping in on a weeks notice against arguably one of the best grapplers in any division, coming up in weight against a guy who has troubles making the LW limit even though Max is taller...I just think that if Khabib is able to get his hands on him that Max is going to be in for a really long night and he may be just too strong for Max.

Sure, I would even go so far to say that full camp Max is a better match up against Khabib than Tony Ferguson, but that doesn't matter, because he's coming off an ankle injury a month go, going into the fight on less than 1 week's notice, and facing a tremendous weight cut. Those are far more critical factors in this fight that should be addressed over this technical breakdown stuff.

great cardio? coming off an injury and 6 days notice to get in shape and weight cut?

I really wanted to but i cant stand when they use that computer voice, why not just talk yourself seems weird to me.

For some reason the author of BJJ Scout has wanted to keep his identity secret.

I get that Khabib is bigger and stronger, but I say Max has a decent chance to win - in no way is this a gimme for Khabib. Anybody that did to Aldo what Max did twice, and I'd say with total confidence and relative ease, is someone to be worried about and never to be taken lightly.

Max is also coming off an injury and hasn't been training. To expect him at his best is unrealistic unfortunately
