How useful are bicep muscles?

You guys should do the Westside Bicepts routine. It focuses on all the major lifts (bicept curls, abs crunches and calf raises). All the pros know that ripped abs and bulging bicepts are the most important things in MMA.

^See thats just annoying now and not even remotely original.

Your biceps do play a pretty big role when your clinching, anytime your pulling the guy in (takedowns), keeping your hands up, pulling your punches back (to protect your face) and all that nonsense.

No muscle should be excluded from training, no matter how cool it seems.

I agree. No muscle should be excluded. I disagree with all isolation workouts for non-rehab purposes, though. For every isolation lift there is a compound lift that targets the same muscle in a similar fashion.

This retarded bullshit has to stop. Alwyn Cosgrove always talks about how the fitness industry acts like a pendulumn, and always swings to the extremes. Should isolation movements be the focus of your routine? No. Should you not do them at all? No. Find me one big fucking strong guys who doesn't do some curls and other stuff at the end of workouts. Ed Coan? Curls and shoulder raises every upper body workout. Zydrunas Savickas? Yeah, he does curls too. Evegny Chigishev is one of the best oly lifters in the world, and he does curls and bench. Read the logs here. Read the logs on EliteFTS. Read the logs on Marunde Muscle. Find me one motherfucker worth his salt that doesn't find isolation useful from time to time. Grip work? Well fuck, that's isolation. Don't do any fucking grip work!

What a skinny bastard. He should squat more.

That's funny, because right here in Infinite Intensity he talks about doing tricep extensions to help pressing strength.

No link? Fail.

If you don't provide a link within 15 minutes, your bicepts will decrease in size by .25".
