This is an excellent video. I think most of us know how the Leftists behave in arguments. We are subjected to it all of the time. When I say "Leftists" I am not referring to Liberals, but I am referring to a very large portion of the Liberal Group that behaves in the way Ben describes.

While I do not call myself a "Right Winger" and I doubt I'd be accepted as one anyway, being that I am an atheist, I do appreciate that this type of behavior is more insignificant within the Right Wing base than it is among the Left Wing base.

A lifetime liberal in Sam Harris recently spoke about how he had SO MANY debates with the religious right about religion (atheist vs theist debates) and despite strongly disagreeing with them on a subject that was so touchy for them, the right wingers did not resort to the kind of moral smearing nastiness that he has faced from other liberals who disagree with his views.

Ben, making too much sense:

Shapiro is a Leftist's worst nightmare. Wasn't he just banned form DePaul University?

Leftists name-call and look for other weak people to join their side against you. They don't debate like men, or women with intelligence. They insult, and act like they don't have to respond to valid points that disagree with their stances.

I used to agree with the left more than the right; probably about 70/30. Now, strangely, it's more like 60/40 in favor of right leaners.

Is Ben still refusing to endorse Trump?

The past few years have pushed me hard towards the right and other things...

Not going to happen. For how great ben is at getting his point across his anti trump stance doesnt sound that convincing.

I will never vote for Donald Trump because I stand with certain principles. I stand with small government and free markets and religious freedom and personal responsibility. Donald Trump stands against all of these things. He stands for Planned Parenthood and trade restrictions and targeting of political enemies and an anti-morality foreign policy and government domination of religion and nastiness toward women and tacit appeals to racism and unbounded personal power. I stand with the Constitution of the United States, and its embedded protection of my God-given rights through governmental checks and balances. Donald Trump does not. I stand with conservatism. Donald Trump stands against it.

Yea the right sucks when it comes to insults. You could kill this entire Islamophobia bullshit by calling the apologists pedophiles at every turn. It's that easy.

This is a good speech. The problem is the very core message of it could be applied to "how do we talk to the right?" as well. It starts from a position of "you have to speak the language of morality" - well, guess what... This is the language of rhetoric in general. The left doesn't respond to the "language of morality" - people do. As soon as you tack a moral imperative to an agenda - the other guy is Hitler, language of hate, not doing what's right, doesn't respect the obvious value of _____, hates ____, opposes _____, all framed in terms of what's right versus what's wrong, you have someone interested. They care because they don't want to be a bad person.

Economic hooks are the only ones that I've noticed having anywhere near as much power to influence people as moral hooks but moral incentives still take the cake. This speech is all good and fine - and it really is good and fine - but it certainly isn't an exclusively leftist trait to respond to moral rhetoric.

ugh leftists. Im not going to try and understand what you mean.
Leftist isn't a thing.

Are you talking about communists? socialists? Marxists?

Lets not pretend internet nomenclature means absolutely anything. Just means a bunch of nothing.

"how to talk to them?"
Like a human being. They aren't aliens ffs.

He looks like a Hollywood rendition of the anti-Christ.

Shapiro has been aggressively bashing Trump since Trump first announced he was running for president.
Ive been trying to find the logic behind him wanting a full blown enemy to fight over having a non pure conservative.

If your goal is maximum conservatism, wouldnt it be better to get an unpure conservative and improve in that as opposed to fighting a full blown liberal?

He states that if you oppose a ford bush you can then get a reagan, well... thats not a causation right? you can still get your reagan afterwards.

Liberal policies tend to be permanent, so if you to get your ultimate conservative somewhere down the pipeline, is that person going to be able to repeal gun bans? is that person going to be able to repeal free college programs ect. ect.? I doubt it.
