They can't. Conor will lose all leverage to call shots, even at 155.

Yeah they probably have to give Nate a title shot for damage control and not do a 3rd fight until after a long while.

    At LW I presume...

LMAO...just another way for Conor to duck FW contenders for the belt.

Well he'd have to beat Aldo first.

If they were both champions why wouldn't they want to do it?

True. Frankie v BJ is another one where one guy lost twice before the third. Different results in the third fights tho but still stand as good examples of it happening.

If Conor loses again, too small. If diaz loses, 3rd fight.

I honestly think this is do or die for Conor. If he loses. He loses a lot of drawing power. Regardless if he goes back to 145lbs. For Nate business wise, business wise he should throw the fight so he can get the rubber match. That rubber match will be huge. Everyone loves trilogies. If Nate wins and goes on to fight Eddie at 155. The money just won't be there as if it were for a 3rd Conor fight. You gotta factor these things in. I think Nate cares more about money than a belt.

Nate wont beat eddie. Huge Diaz fan but not to a fault. He will get wrestle fucked badly. Stupid ass rules.

So would Conor. In fact there are 3 guys neither can beat. Khabib Alvarez and Ferguson all big ass top tier wrestlers who would take them down at will. Hope this Conor diaz shit show ends soon and for good.

I'd watch it. Used to watch K1 and they fought each other all the time. I got no problem with it.

Because the guys at 155 would go ape shit. Nate is ranked #5 (?) at LW and he just beat Conor twice. That's a hard sell to give Conor the shot at the LW belt after losing to the #5 guy twice in a row. He would likely need to go back to 145 and beat one of/or both of Aldo/Edgar to build his aura back up. Orrr...he'd have to vacate the 145 belt and take on a few 155'ers to earn the title shot. This is just my opinion, though. Dana and Co. will do whatever they want anyway.

He wouldn't be the number 5 guy though, he'd be the champion.

"He" meaning Nate wouldn't still be the #5 guy at LW? I'm trying to get your position. If Nate was a WW and stayed there after beating Conor a second time, there would be no issue with Conor taking on Eddie. But, because Nate, after this fight, will be going back down to LW, it makes it a little weird for Conor to take a title shot when he got whooped by the #5 LW. That's my rationale, though. I'm sure Conor and Dana could spin the hell out of that logic and Eddie is more than happy to oblige it, but even some casuals would be like "WTF?".

No, that's not what I'm saying.

I'm saying that if Nate were to get a shot at Eddie after beating Conor and win he'd be the 155 champion.

And then if Conor beats Aldo again, they could do a third fight as a champion vs champion fight.

Ahhh..got ya and I agree. It still seems weird they'd have a trilogy if Nate beat him a second time. Though, I'm sure the angle this time would be "Now they will fight at 155 where Nate won't have a size advantage".
