It's like one of those Pink Floyd Lazer light shows crossed with MMA.
It isn't congruent imo.
Do I want to blow lines and see JBG ultra violence or do I want to take mushrooms and vibe on the aesthetic of the audio video tech?
The whole thing is confusing to me and Dana hasn't explained it very well by saying 'it's a one of one'.

I found this video interesting. You may or may not...

My biggest takeaway is that Dana and the UFC have just done a TERRIBLE job promoting this event.

1- Dana is just trash all around at this point.
I am sick of him. I feel like the collective mma world is getting sick of him.
His take on piracy, Jon Jones and Mighty Mouse are mind bogglingly dumb, he is wildly out of touch.

2- the UFCs idea that the Sphere is the star of the show only works if you actually can convey why the Sphere is interesting and will make for a good show, which imo, Dana has failed MISERABLY at doing.

2b- Doing a supposed big card and not investing in a few more big names, and having a BW main event was an idea so dumb only someone surrounded by people afraid to tell them their ideas are bad could ever think is a good idea.

/rant. I don't want to distract too far from the actual info on how the Sphere works with my rant on UFC brass current state as hot flaming dogshit

You guys clearly aren't understanding the gravity of this. It is a technical masterpiece. With the sphere Dana has taken a fundamentally shitty card and is now seriously promoting it as the "greatest combat sporting event in human history" and instead of mocking that to no end we are left wondering what dumbass ADD cat laser shit will be happening on a ceiling during the shit card.

Truly magical in terms of what The Sphere has been able to accomplish.

Honestly, anytime Dana tries to promote this event, he sounds like some Boomer posting on Facebook about some cool new hip thing they discovered. All Dana has done is convince me that this will be a massively underwhelming, corny, and cringey event. Like these movies he's getting erect over are just going to be basic ass Undisputed-esque videos and we're just going to treat them like bathroom breaks.

I've did a search for the color gamut of the display and couldn't find anything. A million articles about the resolution or the size but nothing to say it's Rec,709, P3, Rec.2020. It seems like with 40 LEDs per puck it would be possible to produce a really wide gamut, but it also seems like something they'd brag about if that were the case.

Agree with everything you said except for your last point. Nothing wrong with a BW main event.

It's just a bad business move. The UFC has spent $20million on this event and they are headlining it with the 2nd lowest selling male weight class.

It also supports the notion of a REALLY bad read on the UFCs part with the idea that the Sphere itself would sell the card and thus they could get away with not building a card with depth of recognizable names, basically having OMalley hung out to dry to sell the card by himself.

Supposedly OMalley vs Aljo set the BW record for PPV sales, but Aljo complained at how low it was and said it was nothing to right home about and not financially worthwhile. If that did break the record, I believe the prior BW headliner record was only 300k ppv buys for Dillashaw vs Cody 2.
