How the spehere works video

Ah the sphere does look cool, although when I watch MMA I don't care that much for what's outside the cage. It's a step up from the Apex I'd say, well done !

2- the UFCs idea that the Sphere is the star of the show only works if you actually can convey why the Sphere is interesting and will make for a good show, which imo, Dana has failed MISERABLY at doing.

2b- Doing a supposed big card and not investing in a few more big names, and having a BW main event was an idea so dumb only someone surrounded by people afraid to tell them their ideas are bad could ever think is a good idea.

And furthermore, the sphere only really matters if you can attend the event, which has been priced too high for the average fan

Best thing possible for MMA was UFC going bankrupt, changed to "things being better if Dana was replaced"

Dana saw U2 there, thought it was cool, and had the venue fresh in his mind when Canelo outsmarted him and booked the T-Mobile for that date first. MGM wanted to avoid Dana having a temper tantrum.

Dana being Dana of course immediately goes full damage control and says Riyadh Season Noche UFC will be the hugest and coolest UFC thing ever, then hits that autopilot switch again. Throws $20m at an event, hypes it up, hires directors, and then blows his wad faster than a 13 year old boy seeing real live titties for the first time.

Says it's a one-and-done UFC event, and we're going to celebrate the Mexican independence by having no Mexicans in the main event. Also, let's not do that in Mexico either. How about, just close to it?

Also - 300, 303, 306... and wasn't 309 the original target date for Jones/Miocic? Chris Weidman on the card, two WMMA matches already, Jones and Sleepay main event... Dana's just going to start having quarterly heart attacks.

Yup.

Dana White is a 55 year old version of a kid who throws temper tantrums because he doesn't know the meaning of the word no.

He fires everyone who doesn't agree with him and now he is trying to push a square peg into a round home with no one to tell him that is a bad idea so he is throwing money around, yelling nonsense and calling everyone else stupid.
 
I think it will be a great event for the live audience, but it's not going be anything special for PPV audience. Maybe I'm wrong, who knows. But I don't think the Sphere can cover up for a relatively weak card in terms of the actual fights.
 
Its not a live event type of venue really.

Its far more impressive when the fight is shown on the actual sphere, instead of just the fucking octagon way down below.

Might also be REALLY disorientating for the fighters if they are facing the screen side of the sphere. Which I assume will be projecting the fight? or have some sort of graphics on it?

All of the live concerts have the musicians facing the audience instead of the sphere's screen, for obvious reasons.

Not sure how Dana is going to factor that in. Turn off the screen during the fight? That'd defeat the whole fucking purpose of the sphere <lol>

Imagine if someone wanted to charge you $85 to watch them videotape the inside of an imax film and I think you will get a relatively accurate guess at how this thing translates.

Some shit will look cool but it will be designed for a completely different perspective and aspect ratio.
 
let’s give each fight a high-intensity cinematic soundtrack. let’s get hanz zimmer to do it. i wanna hear an orchestral hit every time someone gets rocked. i wanna hear a triumphant crescendo when the opponent faceplants.
 
All I know is I hope TOOL does a residency at the Sphere at some point.

Their stop motion/ clay-mation and light show would be amazing in that venue.

Last time I saw them they somehow had the entire stage set up as a visual show including the FLOOR underneath them and of course the walls behind them. And it seem to be back-lit or some sort of led screen because it was NOT projected on them, just the entire stage, glowing, moving in time with the music... animated in that creepy ass tool style like Fantasia /sorcerer's apprentice on acid vibe.
