I am willing to fucking bet that 95%+ of the people bitching aren't even Star Wars fans, but instead just bitter, weird people.
I couldn't make it through that shit video, but if it is about Rey besting Kylo - well, big fucking deal. Kylo had a bow caster bolt wound and fought two duels back to back. For all we know, Rey is a Kenobi, a Skywalker, or another force incarnate; what we do know though is that it is a galaxy that contains fucking magic space wizards with swords of light. So, a female being strong or a soldier being black is of very little consequence.
No one is watching an hour long video, so if you want to talk, you should add you own arguments.
Just going off the thumbnail though:
Finn was able to duel with a lightsaber because New Order stormtroopers undergo much, much more training than Imperial era troopers - including melee combat with force stun batons that can deflect sabers.
Han Solo was brought in just not as a nod to the old films, but because being killed by Kylo was important for his son's character arc. In the book Kylo talks about how he felt like killing his dad would make him more powerful than ever in the dark side, but it just left him feeling weak, hollow and torn between the two sides of the force even more.

This recent liberal propaganda witch-hunt is both fascinating and terrifying. I haven't watched Star Wars in ages, but I'm guessing there's some gay agenda being worked in. It's like that with a lot of movies and shows now.
Thing is, it wouldn't be so bad if it was organic and relevant. But when you have shows like the Walking Dead and American Horror Story force feeding it to you.. sometimes in a graphic manner, it goes beyond just being PC and inclusive. When it becomes painfully obvious that a writer is doing it for shock value and an attempt to be edgy... it comes off as fucking pathetic.

Thanks for singling out my post.. given all of the other's posts that had even less to contribute to the topic at hand. At least my post was relevant to SJWs ruining films and shows. Yeah, I haven't seen the movie, but I've seen enough Stars Wars movies to know the direction it's headed in.. as well as other movies/shows these days.

I didn't single you out man, I tried talking to the OP and the guy who posted above me too - just everyone is hot on linking a video (5 minutes and an hour), making a wide sweeping claim, then not talking about it.
How am I supposed to talk to you about this supposed change of direction with Star Wars if you haven't even seen the movie?
Lets keep in mind, this isn't a change either. Lucas has always been a SJW - look at his addition of Ewoks to juxtapose American involvement in Vietnam (his words). The old films were more preachy and less subtle.
For the new films, people are losing their shit over Rey. Oh no, this girl is overpowered, she beat the dark force user Kylo without training, it's just to appease feminists, etc etc. FFS - she is in a galaxy of space wizards and we don't even know her backstory yet. Like I said, for all we know she could be Luke's daughter, Obi-Wan's, or just the ur-Force Incarnate. It's not like old Star Wars Legends didn't have strong female force users like Jayna Solo and Abaloth.

It had to be an hour long because there is so much wrong with that movie. I wasn't expecting to watch it all, but I had before I'd noticed it was that long. The guy comes across as a know it prick though.
Way too many stupid moments and convenient moments that are put in just to make it fit the template of A New Hope.
Points I can remember from the vid:
- The old man was hiding with the map on Jakku , so how did Poe find him? How did Kylo find him? Why did Kylo kill him? Why not mind probe him?
- Why didn't Poe run away after he gave BB8 time to get out of there?
- Poe kills Finn's friend, yet Finn decides he should help Poe. Why? If somebody kills my friend, I might take umbrage.
- Why does Rey save BB8 from a scavenger and then tell it to go to the town filled with other scavengers?
- Finn can't bring himself to kill anyone, but not long after, he's gunning down people (fellow Storm Troopers and defenseless people in a control tower) from his ship.
- Poe drags Finn to Jakku, but then leaves Finn and BB8. Later gets lucky because Finn complete the mission, despite showing no sign of siding or sympathizing with the resistance before.
- How does nobody know where this missing patch is from the map? They supposedly had the rest of it, but were missing the last piece. Why not send out some probe droids (like they did earlier in the movie) to find it in the area that was missing?
- Why did nobody think to check R2's hard drive? Just to double check.....
- How did Rey know what a Jedi mind trick was when on the ship?

Dude, you realize that most all of those are going to be answered with: because it is literally the first movie in the trilogy, right? If the viewer isn't given information like, why is Ren on Jakku, why is Jakku important (read the Thrawn book), why is Kylo obssessed with Vader, why does R2 have the coordinates but they're hidden, etc, but not the whole scope (when it's part of a planned trilogy), it is on purpose.
The rest is just nitpicking about a character arc that is just dumb in my opinion. If you take any dramatic event, and then cut it apart into small scenes and dissect them in a vacuum, they will obviously seem wrong. 'Finn is a soldier that doesn't agree with the New Order or killing innocents - however Finn is later killing those of the New Order', well c'mon - that's how the Galactic schism works. If he just spent the rest of the movie printing off anti-war propoganda and distributing them to people you would be upset as well.
It is like when people post the clip from Episode 3, when Palpatine is telling Anakin, "do it", in reference to taking out Mace Windu. A ton of try hards make YouTube videos saying, "it only took two words for Anakin to turn on his beliefs, the Order, etc.", when it actuality all that had been bubbling up for two previous movies; his distaste of the dogmatic Jedi Order, his refusal to conform with their monk like ideology (hence him wearing black robes when others wore brown/biege), etc. People just take one snippet, then add it to a YouTube video without context because they know most people that are watching a video labeled 'this is why I don't like X" is probably watched by other people that don't like X.
And of course they're trying to replicate a New Hope with a twist. There is an inversion of roles here: in the old films all the Imperial high brass were very old, but now who are all the major players? Young and idealistic radicals - while the Rebellion is being led by the much older generation. Sure, some of it is hacky, but it is Star Wars - the film that opted to have a Death Star, blow it up, then build... another Death Star.

Kylo killing the old man that knew where the map was or he suspected of having the map made 0 sense, as did so much that happened in that movie. I expect that from an episode on the CW network, not Star Wars.
Explain why Finn would side with Poe after him killing his friend? That's not nitpicking, that's just poor writing.

Because neither of them know it? Poe was shooting at troopers, he can't see under their mask and Finn was part of an assault force. Several of the civilians were firing back, it's not like Finn has telescopic vision, realized Poe shot his friend, then just decided to forgive him. In fact, he had a complete panic attack then emotional meltdown following the scene.
How the heck is anyone supposed to know who on what side shot whom here?
About the map, it is more important to Snoke that Luke is removed from the table than finding him, especially if it means that the Rebels can find him. He wants information, but if he can't get it, there are strict orders to destroy everything pertaining to it. Ren disobeys sometimes because of his own agenda and Hux even chides him about it.

Honestly whilst I'm politically mostly on the left(not an economically right wing liberal) I think he does have somewhat of a point even if its rather misdirected. The reality is the situation comes down to studios and directors thinking they can hijack political issues to make money covering for weak cinema.
As far as Starwars itself goes I actually think the two recent Disney films do a very good job of showing you the difference between a film thats looking to hijack diversity(The Force Awakens) and one that including more diverse characters but doesn't depend on them(Rogue One).
The Force Awakens for me is just typical Abrams, its designed to be an entertaining one off nostalgia/action/humour thrill ride but lacks the originality or the depth to make it very rewatchable(for me anyway). Rey and Finn are very thin characters indeed and what motivation they have setup is pretty much ignored anyway in favour of her being "kickass" and drawing on nostalgia for Luke's superior story and him being comic relief. For me people really need to go back and rewatch the original films and stop buying into the simplistic analysis from various youtube reviewers(yeah the prequels suck, saying so doesn't make you a cinematic scholar) who seem to view the blockbuster as a medium that should never be ambitious.
Rogue One obviously isn't identical to the originals but its actually a hell of a lot closer to them that the likes of Red Letter Media like to admit and that threatens to expose that there whole view of the blockbuster medium as nonsense, hence it was loathed by them. The originals aren't the dayglow fun fun thrill rides they talk them up as, yes there entertaining blockbuster cinema but they also still have half a foot in the new wave with a much more subtle atmosphere and characterisation than Abrams formula.
Whilst Rogue One has a female lead its really not a film that looks to sell itself purely on diversity. Indeed I think the film almost takes the piss out of this style of cinema a bit in the first big scene we get with adult Jyn were in the midst of being "badass" she's knocked on her ass by K2. Whilst she's reasonably competent fighting wise he offs fewer badguys than any of the heroes and is clearly not as tough as some of them. Instead its a film that pays the same attention to character and setting/atmosphere that the originals did rather than the simplified formula of Abrams.

More importantly why FInn would be disturbed by the death of one of his fellow troopers and then gleefully blast a load more of them a few mins latter in the Tie fighter.
The answer is I think clearly bad writing, Abrams has admitted that Finn was originally going to be some kind of smalltime crook or just a nobody with dreams or heroism and the idea to have him as defecting trooper came late on. Unfortunately they included it without changing his character which really does not mesh at all with his background.
The script for TFA to me is your typical rushed bodge job, its all over the place and just looks to throw action/humour/nostalgia at you so fast you don't notice it.
