How much does your Laptop Cost?

No, I just lay it on me when I lay down. It doesn't usually get warm unless it's chugging on something.
I heard that was bad to put a lap top directly on your lap. I have one of these

Yeah, refurbs are usually good. I've bought a lot of cameras as refurbed and one laptop. I either by refurbed or on sale.
I heard in some ways refurbs are better, my friend never buys brand new he always waits a couple months to try to get a refurb because a lot of those brand new ones will have faults, at least with a refurb they do check ups and fix them if they have any issues and you get it for a good discount.

I find they usually arent discounted enough to be worth it from resellers. I always buy new.

If you wanna really get the most bang for ur buck find a friend who is looking to upgrade their laptop and scoop their 2nd hand one for cheap.

Sometimes people dont even know they wanna upgrade until you pitch the idea "Hey man ill buy ur laptop for 300 and u can get a new one howboudat?"

I did something similar
my Cousin gave me his old laptop and ipad when he upgraded to a new one, so I traded them in for credit and got a MSI laptop for gaming adding the difference in cash. The MSI I had was a huge ass 17 inch one and clunky this was around 2008.

Had an Acer ultrabook that is touch screen as well. It was top of the line, but I didn't use it nearly as often as I thought I would, so it's now relegated to HTPC duty for playing videos and streaming.

Right now a $1,200 Surface Pro 6 with a cracked screen.

Week after I bought it I stepped on the Cardy bag strap and slung-shot it off my shoulder down a flight of stairs. It was comical.

Previously I had a $3,500 gaming laptop that I used for games + crunching big data for work. Became a hassle though, bought from a small startup company and the physical build of it was pretty wonky, things kept disconnecting.

Just buy the cheapest laptop you can get away with and save your real $$$ for a desktop. It's good to have both. Keeps your gaming rig super clean, do all your bullshit surfing on the laptop.

10 year old MacBook Air for 1300 I think. Still works ok. Thinking of getting new Dell xp17 when it comes out.

@TidWell what you end up getting?
I haven't got one yet, still looking for that sale. Hopefully some people post upcoming sales in here or fourth of July sale. I missed out on a 35 percent off coupon for Staples they sent me :(

i have a macbook pro, so whatever those cost now. i bought it when it was around 2k, though.

MacBook Pro, it's my second. My first one lasted 7-8 years. Have had this one for a year. It was about $1500. Whenever I had PC laptops they wouldn't work after 1-2 years. Nice to not have to worry about it.

I'm getting an Air delivered any day now, it's $2k AUD for the quad core version here. Did think about the Pro but thought the higher spec Air wa the best option (I'll only really use it for porn, Sherdog and Garageband ha ha)

Macbook Pro 15 inch
Paid near 3 grand 6 years ago, still holding strong.
Been around the world several times, still edits 4k footage without a problem.

Fully loaded 2018 Macbook Pro 15" with i9 Processor, Radeon Pro 20 Graphics, and 1Tb SSD

$4200.00

lol, solid pick. the air is definitely better for portability. this macbook i keep at home, and it's the larger 15" size, so i don't really like carrying it around.

$750, MacBook Pro A1708... Paid more than I should’ve for the peace of mind knowing it wasn’t from a buyer that spunked all over the keyboard.

My biggest Quirk about buying a used laptop.
