He's from Richmond, and I grew up there. I like him because of that but he does not impress me as a fighter. Although in retrospect, the fact that he beat Gerald Harris, Matt Brown, and CB Dollaway in TUF is pretty amazing.

I was just referring to the point that many people say the thing that saved the UFC was TUF. Then people often mistakenly credit Dana for that idea because he so prominently features himself on TUF, using his great history of Tae Bo to tell people "How to be a F**king fighter." When in fact, Dana did not come up with the idea nor did he want to do the idea. So, Dana didn't save UFC if we are crediting the creation of TUF as the "thing that saved UFC."

PS. I do however agree about the ring girls, and the blatantly staged trash talk. Both pointless. I know someone is going to say something along the lines of "but trash talk sells fights, just ask Chael," but it really wasn't the specific things he was saying but more the whole charade that Chael put on that made him popular.
