Strength/Mass How many actual strength athletes are in your gym?

Who is Christine?

I feel like I am missing a giant plot of this arc.
Search Chad Thundermember on the interwebz. It's his AV. Enjoy the ride, it gets deep if you commit.

No idea on Christine. It's either the ex Mrs, girl he mentioned earlier or might not even be a real person.
I leave that one alone, though he has said it to me before.

The dudes working in a gym now. After the Ninja janitor thread, he has set himself up to finally hit that 500lb squat he has been chasing.

I'd include bodybuilding here as a strength sport, together with powerlifting and the others.

So how many?

In the gym that I work at... Seven. Thats it. Of all the hundreds of guys signed up with us who train here at least semi-regularly, only seven of them take heavy weight training seriously.

Most people who sign up with us either don't know what goals they have or they are just there "for health".

I honestly wonder if this is normal or maybe I'm just in a "twink" gym. lol

I live in Idaho.
in the various gyms I've been in I've seen some impressive stuff at pretty much all of them, at least impressive to me because I've never been superstrong in spite of working out most of my life. Most of these gyms are either not strictly weightlifting gyms (mma) or chain gyms with mostly regular janes and joes. Still, the odd guy comes in who'll curl 85 pound dumbells with ease or do lying tricep extensions with 110 pounds for 12 reps, very impressive to me if no one else.

I am confused about Hanma. He always mentions the most outlandish things then he gets angry out of nowhere. We are not on the same wavelength even though I mean him no harm.

Wait he made a ninja janitor thread ? Ok, I got time and am headed there. Now we gotta give him compliments. He got the message. We can't be rude non stop. It was a funny entertaining thread. You did delivered videos. MMMmmmm you are strong at the lifts. What else. You're pretty decent in being polite and respectful. We trolled you way more than you us. I mean what means us, I'm not really a regular in this sub forum. And I am honestly wishing you a nice day and great luck on your whole journey and that you don't take all to heart. Just take it easy and enjoy your life. It's all good, don't worry bout nothing. Just aspire and keep grinding.

I once pissed off a really hot girl and she ended up seducing me only to have me hang out with her and her friends and then describe to me, in front of her friends, how her boyfriend gets to fuck her as much as he wants and he doesn't even lift.

Trust me bro, when you go through something like that, nothing in this world will ever bother you anymore. lmao.
we all got our cringe moments in life, it isn't written on our forehead that something embarrassing happened 5 years ago.

Final Fantasy. Never got into it. You played RPGs too ? I liked Suikoden 2 and I think 4, 4 was the one on the boat ?

Also I remember Arc the Lad, random non famous RPG I actualy finished.

Besides that Diablo 1. So spooky to play it in a dark room as teenager. Diablo 2 was boring. Just mindless hack and slash.

OG games of my childhood are Heroes of Might and Magic 3, Starcraft 1. Also Donkey Kong was solid as a kid.

I'm basically a Dota player. My excuse is Khamzat Chimaev posted a dota screen shot 3 days ago in his Instagram story. I knew he plays, he said it before. Probably plays very little.I used to play Dota 1 too.

Wait this was about something powerlifting athletes in my gym ? I'm not aware of anyone being a pro powerlifter anywhere I have trained. Know a guy who was doing powerlifting and turned into steroid bodybuilding. Didn't see him in forever, besides on IG.

Nah I don't know about any powerlifters. Maybe they have special gyms. Or it's just not popular in Germany and BiH (short for Bosnia and Herzegowina, i means and). Actually one guy in my neighborhood is really really strong. I trained at his gym only like 3 times. I prefer the other laid back gym more. I saw he took parts in meets. He is 260 pounds jacked, like ripped. And like 6'2 or something, at least 2 inches taller than me. I follow him on IG but I don't remember his numbers, def bigger than all of ours.

Ah right, I know a guy, Hanma from sherdog, he sort of counts as powerlifter ?

But to answer the OP, hmmm first of all I don't train at one gym, the chain I train at in Germany, is a chain, but I do go to only 2 of the 5 in town, and 90% to the same one. I didn't notice anyone being a powerlifter there. People are more into being sportsy and fit. It does have a room / corner with 3 racks where you can deadlift and squat and it got wood so you can drop the weight. Honestly I only go like 5 x a month and don't even SQ or DL barely ever, so nope, didn't notice no powerlifters. In Herzegowina it's more trendy to go for fitness aka looks and health. I am from a really small town anyways. There was like 6 people besides me at the gym on Monday. It's a small gym too. Which is cool, stress free. And in walking distance. Can't complain. Just wish we had some kickbox gym that suits me in town. I mean in the end of the day you are gonna do what you plan or you are making excuses. No third option.

I couldn't care about what he says but a lot of this started after he went on some massive rant about me not being able to squat 500lbs. It then came out her couldn't either.
Then he has his thing where he says he has trained consistently for 2.5 years, whilst having videos running specialised programs like Smolov 10+ years ago.

The reality is he makes up his current numbers or takes shortcuts (quarter reps) to pretend he can lift more on the internet. If he had just been less of a dick and had put up his most recent video, he would have just gotten some technique advice. It's still a good squat, just nothing outstanding due to his size. Instead we get whatever these threads are every time.

I primarily play RPGs or shooters, but it's rare I get to anymore.

I wouldn't really count someone as a powerlifter unless they are competing. Same with Olympic lifting. You kinda are just training like one until you compete, which is why the depth thing is so important.

I believe Christine is the woman who did this to Baby:
I once pissed off a really hot girl and she ended up seducing me only to have me hang out with her and her friends and then describe to me, in front of her friends, how her boyfriend gets to fuck her as much as he wants and he doesn't even lift.

Our sherbro Baby Hanma is suffering from PTCD (Post Traumatic Cuck Disorder)

I’ve been training consistently for two years and one month so far. In the beginning of that, I couldn’t even do six reps on clean pulls with 145 pounds. And now my clean pull strength is 245 pounds for a six rep max.

Prior to that, I had a grand total of only 2.5 years of training when I put all my past training periods together, all the way back when I was fourteen years old and all the way up to being thirty years old.

So there we go. I hope that’s clear.

That’s all I ever wanted people here to know. It’ll help me sleep better at night if you all just believe that…

Also, in the period of my life before my current training, I’ve never trained consistently for more than eight months.

I feel like I'm missing out on training. I woke up early, could train heavy bag, but want to conserve my energy for the 140 kg deadlift. But hey is what it is. Do the weights and some cardio ect ect at the gym later. I guess I can do 2 tomorrow. I trained 4 days than rest yesterday. It was 3 x bag workout and 1 weights. So today weights and some cardio stuff at the gym. Let's see if I can do 2 tomorrow. Maybe run early, didn't in forever and am a heavy and shitty runner, but what matters is progress. Than later do bag. Saturday do weights. Well planning is whatever, don't lift too hard for too long cause than you get sore and can't practice skills. So it's like 9 hours till I go for the deadlift lol. Do feel a very sore chest, and my left opposite of hamstring thing is a bit sore. So it's solid. Had plenty sleep. Let's good, check if buddy comes to record this basic 140 kg dl lol. Motivate myself but sherdoging. But I wanna train now, however can't risk not having energy for the DL later. Whatever I'll just get a haircut and do groceries now.
I wanna make 140 kg my bitch. Can't wait for it. But I noticed since I'm a grown up I always feel slightly fatigued, I'm never full of energy, always slightly tired. It's weird. No matter how much I sleep eat ect always slightly drowsy.

I'm back in Germany on wensday. Gonna do a sweet workout in the german gym which is infinite better than here. Maybe even sign up to kickboxing aka Muay Thai, nah I probably won't XD. Well I can sign up for a month enjoy myself. I wanna train !! than when I come home, balkan, I don't train as much as I should could. Guess today 7pm do the lifting than lighter medium intesnity cardio and strength cardio stuff, like squat jumps, kettbell, thread mill. Problem is if I lift heavy as much as I can I'll be sore and weak tomorrow lol. So it's about doing it in a way that you still can do it tomorrow. there is no point in getting yourself sore than sitting out.

What are his dots? He seems heavy like close to 300 lbs.

Then why do you try to act like you are very knowledgeable on training? A lot of the shit you say is completely wrong and clearly hinders your training. It shows as well.

Because Napoleon Bonaparte is my hero. I feel like I need to have a massive ego to become successful like him.

Whatever positive quality I have, I imagine it being a powerful divine virtue that only I possess. And I need to convince anyone who's willing to believe me of it.

There is an episode in the original, old Baki the Grappler anime where Gary Strydum explains to Baki that the true source of Yujiro Hanma's strength is his ego. Yujiro's ego is so strong that he automatically finds any and every method to strengthen his body and martial arts prowess in order to preserve his ego.

I believe I am doing a good job of that. I am able to ignore insults against my greatness. I have no plans of changing my ways.

Heck, even Robert Greene, my favorite non-fiction author, has a chapter in one of his book that preaches the value of believing yourself to be awesome. He said that one of the biggest reasons Alexander of Macedon became the greatest conqueror was because his pot-head mom who communed with her drug-induced hallucinations successfully convinced her son that he will one day rule the world. And then what happened next is something we all know.

@Oblivian

And before you mention Doug Hepburn being my hero, let me just establish to you a hierarchy of heroes in my head...

At the very top are military leaders. I consider them to be the greatest human beings in history and must be emulated in order for anyone to achieve greatness.

Right below them are the great philosophers who were very wise and knowledgeable. They helped humanity become enlightened and less ignorant.

Below the philosophers are the athletes. I admire them, but only in a practical sense. I don't admire them to the point where I start following their life advice, but I do think they are awesome when it comes to giving practical advice on how to get strong and how to have a mindset that will win you trophies or medals. Doug Hepburn, for instance, was already preaching about the power of visualization even before sports psychology as an academic field existed.

Imagine missing the whole point of why we study Military generals and choosing to emulate their weaknesses as a means to be successful...

Your belief in your supposed "greatness" is hubris. You aren't that guy, nor will you ever be with that attitude. You are missing 99% of the success they had before they stepped over the line and faced their downfalls from the attitude you are choosing to emulate.

You could take some constructive criticism and actually progress towards some reasonable goals. Instead you will choose to skip the whole success part to play make believe on the internet.
