How long until horse racing is banned?

I can not imagine this hangs around much longer with the cultural shift that is ongoing. I dont have a problem with riding/racing the horse, but the thing is they whip the FUCK out of them to make them go faster. Thats literally animal slavery.

Horse Racing is the sport of the Ruling Class. No one will ever touch it. Rodeo's on the other hand....not so much. I could see that being banned at some point.

I think the current rule limits whip use to 5 during the race before the 100m mark, and only every other stride in the last 100m. These rules get broken all the time though, there's only a fine and it's not really substantial enough.

I'm sure things will change when a jockey whips the shit out of a horse and wins a really big race, there'll be an outcry and the whip will get banned.

Word, its crazy to think about how big of a thing that used to be and how its just totally died out.
I remember older people actually being really into it and it being a big deal when the circus came to town.
Little by little they just picked away at it.

Owning a horse is part of showing you are rich and have class. Owning an award winning horse further strokes the ego of rich people that own them.

Not going to get banned just because poor people whine about it.

EDIT:
Zoo, Circus and another animal "entertainment", as mentioned itt by other posters, will go first because they are catered to average Joes. Just look at sports hunting in Africa, they paid large sums of money to kill an supposedly "old" animal because it "saves" the species because of that. What logic is that?
