How good was Quinton "Rampage" Jackson?

Average.....him in his Prime now - he wouldnt be top 15
Ok if we are speaking hypothetcially, what about today' top 15? If those same guys were born 10-15 years earlier and were fighting in the 2000s would they be as good as they are now?

Good power and chin. Allright boxing and wrestling. Questionnable work ethic. Definitely top 10 LHW all time.

idk but its a shame he went out like this

He looked terrible here. No wonder Fedor fucking beat his ass.

Ok. Even Rampage thought he had lost though.
Rampage got hit harder then he gave. He lost the “Fight” but it’s also a sport or contest. Machida lost the decision and rightly so.

Ibarra was the ideal coach for him. Changed his style to counter-boxing, which meant becoming champ. Beating Chuck easier in the rematch when Chuck was 4-time defending champ. Got revenge on Wand (with the remnants of that style) and beat Hendo, who was Pride champ.

Sadly, they split ways. Money differences, lies. Rampage was a very good fighter and entertaining pre-Ibarra as well with the slams, GnP and power boxing. But the short time with Ibarra made him elite. p4p #2, IIRC.

Hilarious guy as well, so many laughs watching him goofing around with fans. And self-admittedly hated to train, so fat as hell at times.

Are you that youtube guy?

If so you forgot to add the "actually?"

I think Tito was part of the problem - in regards to Ibarra. And the fact that rampage seems to be a bit unstable and easily led.

I agree his standup was really good under Ibarra - Quinton was always someone who would seem to blame his trainers when things didn't go his way in a fight.

KOd prime Chuck 2X
TKO'd the first time in Pride and then flat out KO'd him the second time (with a beautiful counter - rolled with the hook chuck threw then came over the top with a rear hook).

Haha even Rampage was surprised by that gift of a decision. Lyoto was robbed there...

Not really.

First 2 rounds where fuck all happened, and thus could have gone either way and Lyoto kicked his ass in the 3rd, but not to the extent of a 10-8.

Not really a robbery using the judging criteria, even though I had Machida.

IIRC, Tito, Quinton's long-time friend, told Rampage what a standard manager fee is. Ibarra's was reportedly way above the standard, so they had a big argument about it and split ways. Went to court, again, IIRC.

Then the mayhem driving happened, it was close to the Forrest fight. Rampage spent some time in a institution and later said he was dehydrated from partying and drinking energy drinks, so became delirious.

Of course looked like shit in the Forrest fight. And wasn't the same since.
