How come the UFC doesn’t get young phenoms like AJ McKee?

the UFC doesn't like to sign guys who are top grapple heavy, "boring" fighters.It's also part of the reason why other promotions are less exciting like Bellator. They employ more fighters that are good but boring because they kind of have to in order to have good fighters.

This could be solved if 10-9 rounds were scored 10-10 rounds. Those boring pointfighters will then be forced to either score 10-8 or finish.

To be fair they're still signing guys like Gamrot who's primarily a grappler. I don't think it's so much the style more that they avoid you if you're more of a point fighter.

Exactly, the annoying part is not the grappling but the safe pointfighting close decisions. If you are a grappling and regulary smash and submit, the UFC would love that. You gotta at least be impressive with finishes or 10-8s.
