How come Andrei Arlovski is still fighting?

I see that the OP was made right before he went on his 6-2 run, turning away a few prospects in the process, so I hope his performances answered that question…

Even at the ripe old age of 75, Andrei Arlovski is still a top heavyweight in the UFC.

I can see him having the same shape as he is now and still fighting year 2030.

I mean Ken Shamrock kept fought at 51 back in 2016 against Royce Gracie in Bellator.

Did you see how stellar he made Aspinall look? He is worth every penny of that 500k per fight How many other 50 fight veteran former UFC Champs are gonna forget to fight the hands in a choke? Pay the Man.

HW is the worst division at the lower end and the most younger HWs aren't good enough to replace 40 something ex elites. Better HWs than Arlvoski can remain relevant to almost 50. Kongo and Fedor are top 10 HWs, top 5 in Bellator and they're pushing 50. Cro Cop could have been relevant at 50 if not for his neck thing.

We shouldn't be surprised by HWs being solid at 40 anymore.

But yeah Arlvoski will lose until he gets to a place where he might start winning again.

It would be hard to stop making 300k a fight when you enjoy fighting and training. He also hasn't had too many brutal losses recently. I don't think he cares about his record or the title at this point. It's just training, fighting and collecting a really good paycheck. I can't really fault him for it even though his fights have been horribly boring the past decade.

He makes good appearance money, wins more than he loses still, and they don’t load him up with rough match ups. He’ll likely never be able to earn at this level again in his life after, so may as well milk it where he’s not eating heavy damage in his fights

I know Dana said this wasn't a career but an opportunity, but nobody else has done it better to hang around the big leagues so long, clocking in and making a good six figure salary like arlovski. He's gonna punch that clock as long as his win/loss record keeps him in the ufc amd keep that steady flow coming in.
