How can you be that fat being a professional mma fighter?

Im talking about a lot of the heavyweights here, probably a dumb question but i just can't get it, the amounts of food you would need to eat to pull that off is disgusting. Shit im a runner and i have to constantly force myself to eat to not lose weight and this guys do one of the most brutal and tiring sports in the world and are still fat, are they only eating butter soaked cheese burgers? Cause thats tho only way i think someone could pull that off.

Edit: im not talking about the guys with a little body fat here like cain or fedor ( especially pride fedor) im talking about the legit morbidly obese guys that pop in every fight
Mostly because HWs tend to rely on their size so not a lot of them work on their speed/movement/cardio like the lighter fighters. They focus more on power and weight, so that comes with extra mass. They can be light and agile on their feet like Gane, Stipe, Fedor, etc, but a lot choose not to train those attributes.

His poor shoulder.

Has anyone seen a picture of the TS with his shirt off? He’s posted them before.

If you have you’ll scratch your head at his comments of him being a runner and not gaining weight if he doesn’t eat enough.

I’ve had this question too, how can you be a pro fighter, be so active and still have so much excess body fat to the point of obesity... I don’t get it

I mean have you seen linemen in football?

Some of those guys fat but still fit

How NFL offensive linemen escape the 5,000-calorie lunch and transform in retirement
It may be a requirement for offensive linemen at (American) football's highest levels. It seems to be a world of horribly unhealthy actions, choices, and habits that would be extremely taxing on the cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, and digestive systems.

I've wondered the same thing. It seems like a lot of HWs in mma carry quite a bit of extra weight they don't need. I think it's that their diets are trash because they don't have the pressure of weight cutting like the lower weight classes. Plus, they may feel giving up size could hurt them if they go up against a natural monster who needs to cut to 265lbs. Many of these guys are probably not true HWs with a proper diet and could make 205. But there is something special about the Heavyweight Belt and being the Heavyweight Champ. I think a 225lbs weight class would probably reveal how small a lot of these HWs really are and many would trim up.

I'm a big guy - 6'6" and gain weight very easy. The highest I ever hit was 330lbs and I'm 255lbs now. I'm in the process of getting to 240-245lbs which is my best weight. I've trimmed up nice, so I don't see why a solid diet wouldn't help out HWs in the UFC. Just from another athletic, big guy perspective.

Thing is compared to the 2000s lower level HW's these guys are A level athletes. Once divisions became a thing HW's always had the least talent in MMA especially when you get past the elite guys. It's common for old guys to remain relevant into their 40s cause not many new elite fighters replace them. But HW right now is about as good as it's ever been(better than at least 185,145 IMO, 125 is complicated).

How much does he weigh?

Edit; 244

But he's from Guam, so he's a pacific Islander. Those guys are built like that.
244lb sounds light..he weighed 255 in one of his UFC fights I know that much. I'm 5'11" 240lb and he looks way worse than me no way he could only be 4 pounds heavier.

They get hungry and eat food. It's just biology.

I just looked him up on google, and it said he was 244 on his most recent fight. That guy could make LHW for sure. If DC can do it, so can he.

I'm about the same size too (5'11, 242), and don't look that bad. And I'm not an athlete. The heaviest I've ever been is 297, now that wasn't a pretty sight, LOL.

F#king thiis ^^^^

Because HW is a mostly joke division outside of ranked fighters. Anyone truly athletic at that weight will play a sport that actually pays money. It's why--in my opinion--that we only ever see hw ranked contenders come from foreign countries where there is no alternative option. The UFC imports hw fighters for this reason. Gane, Ngannou, Rozenstuik, the list goes on..

He might have been heavier at one point, might have loose skin. Looks much bigger than 244,could definitely make 205...DC looked nowhere near that bad at 240+ had much more muscle and a wider frame.
