As a fat person, I'd say that being fat is more about the type of food you eat, rather than the amount.

If you fill yourself with celery and water, it's much different than filling yourself with potato chips and beer
 
Cain was ok, when in fighting shape he was maybe a little chubby but you could see he was build and he was guy know to eat 20 tacos in row every training seassion, so yeah i can't understand how you can get fatter than this training for mmaView attachment 837504

im just say if hunt lost all his weight hed be in a diff weight class and itd be a diff life style. It probably has never even crossed his mind to do it any other way. Esp when you consider dude was discovered in a bar fight.
 
Poor diets, mostly. Would they probably be a little weaker and easier to push around if they were more traditionally healthy? Probably but we'll never the full picture of the tradeoff anyway because there will always be people who love to eat and punch people and are great at both.

Yes if you burn 5000 calories and eat 6000 you will gain weight but the question is why would anyone even want to eat that much?

Well yeah, since celery is extremely low calorie dense foods, while chips are the opposite.


Also, there are guys like Hunt and DC who are fat but at least they are solid/thick.
You have guys like Daukaus who could easily fight at LHW imo. He is not very tall and not so much muscle mass.

Cmon, cain was not know for eating exacly clean but he was not a bowl of lard when in his prime, looks pretty ok to me some fat but also tons of muscle i could see someone getting to that size if they really over eat even if being a top mma fighter of the world which cain did for sure just look it up him eating. What i can't understand is passing this point when training mma, only way i can see it being possible is if you're eating fried cheese burguers every hourScreenshot_2021-03-03-02-50-06-1.png

When i started training yrs ago i was a big boy. I lost at least 50 lbs in 6 months. But i hit a wall. No matter how hard id train i couldnt lose anymore than that 50 lbs. I had to change my diet to lose anymore.
 
Because they have a big appetite, because their body burns a lot of calories. Their stomach is also much bigger than yours, because it's proportional to their body and also bigger because it's stretched to fit the usual quantity of food it needs to process. So with the quantity of food that would normally fill you up, still leaves them hungry basically. And there is a lot of tasty not so healthy food.

I'd say it's more, some people have bad food habits and eat for taste instead of fuel and nutrition. Also, all the misinformation and mixed information about different foods and diets causes people to eat shit and be confused.
 
Roy Nelson and Tank Abbott come to mind. Honorable mention Derrick Lewis. Hunts like 5'11, gets a pass.
