How can Khabib afford his own promotion?

No one runs MMA promotions with cash, it’s all financed. Khabib probably has some major backers

He bought a previously existing promotion. And he has real money backing him. For all we know some Saudi prince or whatever is bankrolling the whole thing.

The guy has about $50M. Buying an mma franchise isn’t that hard to do. What matters is whether you can turn a profit or not.

Nick diaz had a mma promotion so khabib can
Among current UFC fighters Oleinik, Muradov, Masvidal own promotions. Muradov said that he owns one in Uzbekistan and co-owner of another in Czechia, I think Masvidal was holding mma-without-gloves events and like a week ago normal mma event happened but maybe it was another promotion owned by him.
Ex-Bellator fighter Shlemenko owns promotion in Russia, ex-WSOF fighter Vagab Vagabov bought one in Russia too, I think soon first event of promotion of Anthony Pettis is happening.

It's unlikely his capital, but he was making $10M+ per fight. His base was double McGregor's.

So you think eagle will succeed and pay well?

Eagle will succeed, it will take awhile. But I feel it will over-take One Championship in the usa and europe. But not overtake the more established Bellator nor the mil tourneys of PFL.

And just pay a bit better than ufc.

Jesus an entire promotion for Conor's public appearance fee
Over a complete bender weekend Conor easily snorts, drinks and parities away more than Khabib paid for Gorilla Fighting Championship....
{<Mcgoat}{<Mcgoat}{<Mcgoat}{<Mcgoat}
not really a complement, in the end that’s why Khabib will be more influential and eventually be as wealthy as Conrad.

How do people scale a business when they lack capital? They look for investors.

Khabibs got more money than you might think. Khabib was already a millionaire before he got signed by the UFC from his endorsements (If I'm not mistaken). Add on top of that what he made in the UFC, plus you can tell from his lifestyle the dude probably saved the vast majority of what he made.

And he's got wealthy dictator friends, so theres that.

Conor doesn't have 'Conor money' anymore.

Khabib has ties to Russia and the muslim upper class, he has all the money he needs to do this.

Probably has investors. He's just the figurehead because he brings name value.
He bought GFC for 1M last year. And you don’t need «Conor money » to buy a business anyway.
And yes he has investors, deals. This is how you do business. He doesn’t run it on his own.
Khabib one of those few guys who got paid a shit tons by the UFC
One of Khabib's goal is to provide 5000 jobs in the next 10 years or so. With that in mind he also have many other business projects ongoing, which is a good resume on its own.

He did many charity, also build gym for people in Dagestan. With this good look he got investors coming in, he did knew how to maintain connection too. I.e. good intention, good image, less controversy, good resume.

Better ask how guys like Masvidal and Pettis are able to have their own promotion.

Investors and sponsors.

Conor can stick to selling shitty whiskey where it's low effort and you don't need to work that much. I doubt that an investor would take the risk in partnering with Conor to start an MMA org. Conor is just too volatile and can barely stay sober. Better a disciplined vice-less guy like Khabib. Dana White's success is not a blueprint, that shit will never be replicated again.

Khabib is popular in his home country and likely gets local sponsorships there just like we have them in the USA. He must be liked by someone important if Putin took time out for him. Popularity = money.

I could believe it if Conor opened his own mma promotion, but Khabib doesn't have Conor money. So how can Khabib afford to do this: pay fighters, production costs, venue costs, and other fees. It must take a few million I reckon. So where did he get the money?

Ramazan Kadyrov

If you think khabib is paying for all of this out of his own pocket, you don't have a very good idea of how business works

he pays for everything out of his own pocket. Announcers chair. A bowl of hot fruit for the athletes
