How can Alexa Grasso beat Valentina ?

I think she just has to stay on her fooking bike and try to outpace and out-strike Val in a battle of attrition. Letting Val dictate the pace will spell doom for Alexa.
yep, this is what i was thinking. she has to treat this like a boxing match. go in, pop a few shots then go out. and i hope Grasso is working on her TDD because she's gonna need it. i think Valentina will win though.

Trying to outpace Valentina doesn't work, the pace will be what she wants it to be unless you can find a 135lbs version of Joanna. The best that Grasso can reasonably hope for is outpacing her for maybe a 15-20 second stretch before Val grabs the initiative back and gets her own hits in. Which means we're gonna be gaming the scoring system and counting on the usual dumbass judges.

What we do know is that Valentina isn't going to make an example of you unless you piss her off, so first, don't piss her off. Trash talking during the leadup is out. Also, don't try to take her head off or land big strikes on her during the fight, rather, just throw some light punches & kicks at her to score points. Tap her to score points, but don't hit her hard enough that she feels a need to turn it up a notch and retaliate. Save the big strikes & flurries for the end of the round to leave a good impression with the judges and also so that she can't get them back. Pretty much have a staring match with a few love taps until the last 20-30 seconds of each round, you want as little to happen in the round as possible until the end so you can steal it with late flurries.

I believe Val can goon her and take out her with strikes on the ground. I honestly don't think Grasso has much of a chance but Val is getting older. It's not fun prepping for a championship fight over and over again. It really is a meat grinder of a schedule to prep for two championship fights a year for many years. You will burn out or lose focus.

It seems like her best weapon is her stand-up game but man is hard for me to see somebody beating Valentina at stand-up right now. Not even the 145lbs champ selfproclaimed GWOAT could do sh7t to Valentina at stand-up

So what are Alexa's best chances to win? Best strategy?

Some ppl think the way to beat Valentina is on the ground but Valentina is also very good on the ground, idk if Alexa's ground game is good enough. Valentina has taken every single one of her oponnents down (incluiding the 135lbs girls) and most of her finishes in the UFC have been on the ground.

So what do you guys think?
She wins by actually being cute, without Photoshop or gobs of makeup.
Oh, in the actual fight? She has no chance.

Valentina will need to have a momentary lapse of judgement and make a huge mistake.

outside of that I see no path to victory. She will need to capitalize on a mistake
yeah what @RockyLockridge said, more or less.

I just think Valentina is too well-rounded and too experienced and too physically strong.
But... it should be a good learning experience for Grasso and good exposure for her. To even get to a title-shot, is in itself a great achievement and she's also a sweet woman and I wish her the best in her fight!

In close punching range I can see Alexa landing but not hurting Val.

That said, Val will pick her apart from the outside, if not straight up take her down and make it a quick night. Still, I'll rooting for Grasso.

I just hope Val sub her quick...don't want Val to rearrange that pretty face...I can fuck a girl with one leg or one arm but 3 cheekbonesis where I draw the line...

Grasso herself said she wasn't ready for the belt yet. I'm shocked they even made this fight. Val should win an easy UD.
same happened to horoguci when he fought mouse. said he wasnt ready but the ufc dosnt like people who turn down title fights

If hardworking Latina handywoman Karen Montes can resurface a patio like this, just imagine what she can do to Valentina's FACE.

I guess if Val has declined steeply and that Grasso can box her, Val is usually never hit though.

Grasso has to show her good side and show that she's really cute, that way it causes a momentarily lapse of judgement with the judges.

I only see a fluke win. Her defense is pretty bad and she gets hit a lot. She also seemingly gets taken down at will and just holds on. She also isn’t very big.

I’m glad Val is getting some fresh meat but I’d be shocked if this isn’t a cakewalk. Grasso is solid but Val is still next level.
