No actually it's completely relevant. You obviously think it's wrong that these animals are essentially forced into slavery for the entertainment of humans. But the most you'll do about it is get outraged about it on the internet. At least the hippies at Greenpeace actually go out and attempt to do something about what they see as an injustice. That makes their crying somewhat more bearable.

I think these horses have a far better life than the cows, pigs, and chickens that people eat. Your speaking to a guy who eats meat once every three months so I empathize with animals

This. Love animals. Owned dogs and birds. But the tears are too much sometimes. Huskies love to run and will run till they die. If they die in a race, that's tragic. But i would suppose that's better than them being cooped up in a backyard in the neighborhood of some warm, dry climate.

Racing Horses I heard live excellent lives and some live and eat better then probably 90% of the poor people on Sherdog do. Don't pity them. Most of them retire at a young age too so they can live full healthy lives. It's a tragedy but don't pretend like this happens all the time.

I just saw a news report about a cyclone killing over twenty people in Bangladesh or whatever and barely batted an eye. I see that two horses died and instantly felt a pang in my heart. I don't know what that says about me.

I have no issue with horse racing. I'm still amazed that with the amount of money in that sport modern science hasn't figured how to heal a broken leg and at least keep the horse alive to recoup some money with stud fees to F- level stables.

There are far more outrageous abuses to animals that go on in our society and they are in a far larger scale. The treatment of cattle, pigs, and chickens is disgusting. I am just not outraged by horse racing as those animals are treated in a far better manner.

Animals in general do not have choices. You think its cool to take puppies from a mothers litter and then sell them as property to people. What choices do pets have? They are basically prisoners.
