Holly "spar master" Holm looked OLD..

She just didn't throw enough volume of punches. She scored with almost all of her combos but for the most part she was a one hit wonder

I mean sure you can be in better shape than you were at the time but your athletic ceiling was higher in your 20's athletically without a doubt

If you keep in shape, I'm telling you, it doesn't really change until about 35. I could lift more when I was 25, actually, because I lifted heavier.

Anyone who does the 'haiya' stuff, you know is a point fighter.
Like Miss Piggy?

Holly used none of the lessons she was taught in boxing tonight. No movement, no head movement, She seemed fine side kicking and getting counter punched. With gorgeous thick legs with 0% fat on them you think she would try for a take down and try to work some top game herself. Very lackluster performance for sure.

Just want to say Hollys body looked pretty different to me from how it looked against Ronda

Pretty much this. I'm a fan and I'm very disappointed. The VERY few times she got to a third or fourth strike in a combo there was some power, but it didn't happen near often enough. Way too many lazy 1-2's, lazy side-kicks, and not near enough movement. She paid for all of that tonight.

It is possible she is aging physiologically a little early and that might have something to do with her performance. One thing I will say is that I have friends in the fight world who told me there was no way in hell that Holm was completely "au naturale" in the Ronda fight. And if that is true, and she has since weened off of it, that could partly explain her recent struggles. There is no question that the current Holm is NOT the Holm that beat Ronda.

Yeah she was throwing non-comittal strikes a few feet away all night. She was missing a lot. It looked like she couldn't pull the trigger against the shorter fighter. But then again, Valentina is a very accomplished striker herself.

When Holly is chasing, she has:

1) No distance gauging
2) No timing

Which leads to more than half her strikes hitting the air. So it's not anything to do with her skills diminishing, it's just she's very bad in this type of fight.

She did look old, I agree. looks like she was fighting a sparring match. hitting air with most of the punches

Ronda was the only impressive fight Holly has and likely will have in the UFC. I think a patient Ronda would absolutely destroy her at this point.

Holly has never been that devastating of a striker coming forward. Usually she outpoints opponents and dictates the pace. But Valentina was beating her to the punch in nearly every exchange. Holly's kicks, especially her oblique kicks, looked tentative.

I don't think she's done, but she's going to have to make a statement and take someone's head off in her next fight, if she wants to stay relevant in the title hunt.

WAR Holly and congrats to Valerie on a great performance tonight.

Nah. No way Ronda has the striking pedigree to repeat what Valentina did to Holly.

nah man shes also looking physically old. still would though with the force of a thousand suns

Her stance is too wide. She needs to do a BJ Penn and fight taller.
Her stance is fine. She need to commit. Her half ass kicks were frustrating to watch. She was fighting a better striker. She needed to make the fight dirty and keep her pinned against the cage and use dirty boxing to win. Her only advantage in that fight was her strength in the clinch. It would have been boring but she would have got the W.

No, that was vintage Holm. Check out her boxing matches, she is a point fighter with great cardio.
