Holly Holm Disappointment

Idk yet i don't jump to conclusions like you do by the end of the year we will know.

I didn't say Tate or Ronda was definitely better than the other.

'Miesha is the best women's 135 fighter IMO. Or Ronda still, but with the NeoTate improvements, maybe not.'

And maybe there is no one best and they're both better in some ways than the other.

Wicked ground game? Good ground and pound yeah but she isn't exactly a submission artist. She has decent wrestling but even Miesha's takedown threat couldn't stop Holly Home from outpointing her for much of the fight.
Lol Cyborg is not a point fighter shes a finisher and shes an actual MMA fighter with a ground game and takedown defense lol.

Silly bitch, one loss and now she's a disappointment????
iu
Rousey or Holm's? Or just flip flopping sherdoggers?

Holly Home is an actual MMA fighter with good takedown defense and 7/10 wins by finish who happens to be very very defensive.

Hollyoto Macholm.

My bad, you've always hated Cyborg, that's true. You just dropped all the Ronda stuff.

I didn't drop the Ronda stuff so much, she's still one of my 3 favorite fighters. Just gotta go all in with Tate while it lasts cause she's greatest underdog champion ever.

Or since Frankie anyway.

Fair enough

You are on her bandwagon i bet before she beat Holly Holms you wouldn't of said shit now she beats Cyborg cause of what lol ? How is she gonna beat Cyborg outwrestle her lol ? She would get slaughtered on the feet no way shes gets Cyborg down.

You know know that. Have you ever grappled at a medium level?

You don't know. Holly and Cyborg are completely different types of fighters. We will not know till we see it but I favor Ronda over Cyborg and Holly over Ronda unless Ronda can figure out how to get her hips in one someone that is as evasive as Holly.

Don't see how she's ducking anyone. She wants a chance to get her belt back, and it sounds like she may get that chance at UFC 200. The Cyborg fight is still there afterwards, regardless of the outcome. The smart money is fighting Miesha, then if she wins she has two options for big money fights since the Rousey rematch will be there if she's holding the belt.
As far as the Tate fight, she was too tentative and figured she could coast in Rd 5 (bad strategy). Don't think she'll make that mistake again and will use her distance better in the rematch.

Holly wants a rematch with Miesha, there's no interest in going up in weight now. When she was champ, she was open to it, but now she's just trying to get a rematch and basically do what's best for her career. She's trying to get the belt back, that's what she wants, it's the most important thing to her right now. Her main interest lies in getting the belt, trying to get a fight with Miesha, not moving up and fighting Cyborg.

People need to understand that fighters don't just accept every fight that comes their way. If any of you guys were fighters, the ones who say 'duck duck duck duck,' your career would be ruined quickly because you don't know how to make a good business decision whatsoever. This fight has very little interest for Holly's career right now, that doesn't mean it won't ever happen.

Holly would wreck Cyborg anyway. Cyborg is so damn sloppy on the feet, she'd get tagged up by Holly all night. Cyborg just moves forward and throws sloppy punches at you, she wouldn't fare well against Holly just like Ronda didn't. Moving forward like a bat out of hell and throwing wild shit doesn't work against her and that's all Cyborg knows. Her aggressiveness works against everybody else just like it did for Ronda, but it would be her undoing against Holly. Cyborg fought ONE high level striker (Jorina Baars) and she was outclassed badly. She won one round, if I remember correctly, but was dropped in practically every other one.

And it's not easy taking Holly down. We saw how much trouble Miesha had taking her down at all, Miesha has the best TD's in the division, she's the best wrestler there, and I expect people will say how Cyborg would submit her, but Cyborg hasn't submitted anybody in her entire career. Even in submission grappling, Cyborg has only one submission out of 8 matches. Cyborg doesn't try to submit anybody at all and her best TD's are when she puts you against the fence, and Holly stops TD's more effectively there and she's pretty decent at getting up. Miesha is very, very good on the ground with her control and has the best submissions in the division in terms of variety 'cause Ronda only has an armbar.

And who the hell has Cyborg even beat? she's the most overrated WMMA fighter of all time. Her best wins are Gina and Marloes Coenen, she hasn't beat anybody, she fights the easiest opponents in WMMA pretty much. Cyborg hasn't fought anybody GOOD in YEARS. So overrated. I could see Miesha and Ronda beating Cyborg too. She's not that good. She really isn't. She's so sloppy. God, how amazing it would be to see Leslie beat the brakes off her.

Ah but if was rousey would you say the same? Hmmmmm

Absolutely not because Ronda & Cyborg have called each other out like crazy so it wouldn't make sense for her to not take the fight. The only reason she would not fight her at catchweight before was because as she said the champion is not going to accomodate the challenger.

But she's not the champion right now so it wouldn't make any sense for her to turn down the fight.

As awesome as Ronda is it's kind of poetic justice that Tate beat Holly now when Ronda couldn't, Miesha reached the pinnacle of WMMA back in 2011 when she beat the significantly bigger Coenen (while being 24-25 years old and a huge underdog) only to have her spotlight snatched away immediately from her by Ronda. Then she became known as 'Overrated Gatekeeper Tate' to many dumb fans who thought she was only pushed because of looks, forgetting she was always one of the most skilled fighters working with a size disadvantage.

But then came the NeoTate evolution...

It was getting stale with Ronda, Holm brought a lot of new excitement, Meisha was impressive in her tenacity although I believe she was losing until she won. The thing is that objectively, Cyborg is the most well rounded of them and she is bigger. I don't see how you can discount that. Hopefully one of them will get the nerve to challenge her at 140. If she starts destroying the bottom of the division in 140 catch fights like she has in invicta, I could see a hype train getting started behind her to where a confrontation with the top three might be unavoidable. In fact, if I were UFC, I would change WBW to 140 to include her.

I don't think she is objectively more well rounded than Miesha, she has better striking but Miesha has the better ground game IMO, even in her BJJ matches Cyborg mostly won with wrestling and control while Miesha is a constant sub threat. I'll admit Cyborg seems to have good wrestling, but I'd still have to go with the wrestler there. Striking Cyborg>Miesha, subs Miesha>Cyborg, wrestling Miesha>Cyborg.

Ronda and Cyborg may be closer in well-roundedness since Ronda has a bigger flaw in her striking defense but I would still think striking Cyborg>Ronda and grappling Ronda>Cyborg, Holly is definitely less well rounded but her game isn't being well rounded it's going ish ish ish until time runs out or she gets a KO.

I don't think she has the strength to deal with Cyborg on the ground and she's not going to get RNCd like Holm. You can claim that Tate is the more skilled grappler, which I'm not at all sure is true, but Cyborg would be the more effective grappler due to her size and strength advantage. Again, she doesn't have any holes in her game and is the larger woman. The only thing that could cause her problems is an advanced technical striker with tdd.

That's a fine opinion but the bolded is where I disagree. She may not have any major holes but that doesn't mean somebody can't be better enough in an area to be effective. I stand by my old post saying Miesha winning 6/10 times but I might agree she probably doesn't finish Cyborg, there's a good chance it goes to decision... the wrestler winning the decision.

If/when Meisha loses the belt, she has to take that fight. Agree?

It would be a cool fight to see but if Miesha beats Ronda, let her fight Cyborg in a superfight with the belt.

David vs Goliath once more.
