Not really. She was beating Tate on the cards, but hey, give her credit too. She fought patiently and was superior on the ground.

Fans need to stick to reality. Rousey's striking was always sloppy and her defense blew, but no one could make her pay for Holm. But it was just a matter of time.

Unbelievably, all three judges gave Tate a 10-8 for that earlier submission attempt. Someone posted the scorecards, it was going to be a draw.

I think like Conor, Ronda's ego will compel her towards trying to erase that L from her record despite having championship fights available. It's probably true she had plenty of distractions at the time and didn't fight intelligently against Holly as she was trying to live up to her aura of dominance after dispatching a number of fighters in under a minute each, and foolishly tried to trade with an accomplished striker. Ronda will likely never match Holly's striking, but she could have been more patient with setting up grappling exchanges rather than being clowned.

And I would wager that the UFC would be up for it since a Holly rematch is much more compelling and would sell more PPVs than a 3rd bout with somebody she's beat twice already. I don't think the general public (Ronda has huge mainstream appeal) really cares about MMA math and would get sucked into a redemption fight.

But this is just me guessing lol.

Just needs time to work on her grappling, she won the 1,3,4th rounds against miesha and was winning the 5.

And survived bravely the second round and fought until the end that choke in the 5th.

Miesha is a good fighter too, don´t forget that.

She's a great striker. That about it. Her and Conor learned the same thing that evening. They need to work on their ground game and if they are a true, gifted athlete then they will prevail and come back stronger than before.

Time will tell us whether either of them are gifted athletes, or just great strikers.

Holm is arguably the worst fighter I have ever seen on the ground in MMA period.

Beating the undefeated champ as a 20-1 underdog and then winning against Tate, the #1 contender, going into the 5th round before losing a good fight makes someone a disappointment? And blaming fighters for not fighting above their weight class instead of blaming the fighter that can't make weight has never made sense.

And she is trying to get herself back to the money fights. Casuals don't know squat about Cyborg. So the risk/reward has never been good. It's one thing to take the catchweight as champ when your stock is high and if there are limited paydays. It is quite another to chance derailing a climb back to the title.

People who turn on her now is because they were never fans, they were just happy she beat Ronda. Who she could have waited on but decided to fight Tate in the meantime.

I still think Ronda beats Cyborg 8/10 times at 135 though maybe not 9 and Holly 7/10 times, the McMann part of that post is a bit dated but if she came in the same form she did for the Tate fight she could be tough for Borg.

Well not purely but a large part of it. If a grappler beat Ronda they would probably be more just 'Ronda was so overrated' and less that the other grappler is invincible.

What evidence have you seen in a Cyborg fight that lead you come to the conclusion that she can be easily taking down or running for her is the key to beat her ? At Least we seen Miesha outstruck and Holly out grappled.
