Holly Holm back in the gym, practicing RNC defence

Holly is a dedicated athlete. That is awesome to see. I have a lot of respect for that woman, win or lose.
I don't even like WMMA and I admire that woman. Goddess.

Well I mean aside from losing the fight, it's not like she took any significant damage of any kind. The only aspect of that entire fight Meisha won was landing two takedowns in almost 25 minutes.

I like Meisha and I would love to see her as a long time womens champ, but Meisha winning is the worst thing that could ever happen to MMA. Why? Because now we have to see that duff blimp Ronda again.

A former MMA champion goes to practice on the following Monday after her fight to learn how to defend a rear naked choke. That just seems kinda sad, that's all.
That seems like someone who wants to get better at what they do.

Now that's a real warrior. Best of luck Holly, whatever you do in future.

We will always love you for putting to sleep Ronda and her hype.

Everybody will be like ¨Oh my God she is such a hard worker, blah blah blah¨. She is only doing what she is supposed to. She is not supposed to get out of shape and become a walking whale like Ronda Rousey.

She is a high level pro athlete so she is supposed to get back to the Gym and keep working.
And you were supposed to get something better to do unlike us who spend dear time on this shithole.

Ronda jumped into the all you can eat buffets when she lost. Like a boss!

I think the real problem was Holly desperately trying to stand up, once she felt Misha was trying to take her back, leaving her neck exposed so she should work on preventing that on the first place. Once Misha locked her arms (while still on their feet) Holly was done. She should work on staying calm, try to turn into guard to work her way up from there or at least mantain a safe Bottom Position and not just stand up recklessly.
Then again I guess training RNC defence over an over can help her lose the fear of being in such situation and help her stay calm and think more clearly when someone is trying to take her back.

The thing is during the second round attempts and the one that eventually ended the fight, she actually did look calm. She just made some mistakes.

Got exposed when everyone including her has stated her ground game is her weak point?

Yep. It's one thing to believe/know it's her weakness and its another to prove it.

Holly should train more for defending how she got into that position as opposed to being in it but its all good. If she improves her weakness that only makes her strengths that much better.

Holly's awesome. As sad as I am she lost, I'm thrilled that Miesha won. That was an awesome fight with a come from behind finish.

I believe Holly will be champ again. Big fans of both Holly and Miesha.

I agree with a lot of this. Her main problem was trying to force her way back to her feet despite never gaining full guard. This was obvious as she was in like half guard and shrimpes all the way to the fence to try to get back up. she was trying to force her way back to the feet rather than control Miesha and maintain a good full guard to either work from there or stall for a forced stand up.

To be fair she probably KNEW that Miesha ground game was much better so she might have thought trying to maintain guard would be too difficult and hat it would be easier to get back up.

Her TDD is on point I think she just needs more work to get back into full guard and work from there. All other sub defense stuff will help a lot too but generally speaking it'd be best to never be in that position in the first place

When GSP couldn't finish the armbar against Dan Hardy, he was backstage immediately after the fight with John Danaher pointing out what GSP did wrong.

That's a champion's mentality. GSP had it and looks like Holly does too.

Good for her.

Awesome to see, still shocked Miesha was able to beat her so badly when it hit the ground. I knew she wasn't a wizard or anything off her back but I thought she could have at least done something more.

Awesome! Straight back in the gym rectifying mistakes and getting better. Really hoped Holly got a rematch with Tate.

Why should Ronda get the fight now that Tate has won. Ronda refused to fight Holly around UFC 200 and was going to take time off until the end of the year. Now that Tate has won she see's (in her opinion) an easy victory. This shows she is clearly afraid of Holly. Good thing is though that if she beats Tate, she will have to face Holly again.

She's practising her grappling since fighters need to keep drilling the basics. I don't know why you think she's learning rnc defense for the first time.

Still a big fan of Holly. It's amazing she's been so successful in MMA with virtually no ground game.

This is the sign of a true fighter. That's insane heart. What's not to love?
