Haven’t came across a run back yet that’s even in the same stratosphere of annoyance as the soul sanctum or even the mantis lords.
You haven't reached it yet. Unless you finished act 1

Trapped in the Slab. Damn this platforming. I feel this is harder than anything in Hollow Knight apart from Path of Pain

Can't remember "soul sanctum" but the Mantis Lords weren't that bad, albeit probably remembered because the fight was the first real challenge in the game. It's burned into people's brains. Once you knew the direct path, it was really just three or four screens with easily avoidable enemies.

That said, runbacks should just not be a thing. There's not one positive about them. It's just plain irritating and pointless.

Sinner's Road and the god damn bench does not work. Had to check online for first time what the fk to do.

I'd say about half of my playtime in Silksong is devoted to attacking walls, ceilings and floors lol.

My "souls-sense" is constantly tingling in this game.

Same but not quite!

Soul sanctum was the lead up to soul master, tight corridors and teleporting enemies everywhere.

Longest one I’ve done so far is the last judge and your description of the mantis lords can be applied to every run back so far.

Well yes I would rather have none, I just think they’ve been well blown out of proportion in Silksong.

Made it to act 2. Phantom was another great boss. Getting to the boss? Yeah fk that.

It is as if they made the best parts of HK better and the worst parts worse.

Theres a shortcut right off the bench by the elevator. One of the breeziest runbacks.

Very much enjoying the reward for that fight.

Went back to explore some loose ends, ended up in the same zone as from Sinner's Path. Killed another great boss, The Last Judge, felt a bit like Grimm. Too bad that the run back to the boss was again nothing but annoyance.

I also find currency farming (rosaries) to be a chore. If I am organically collecting rosaries as I am exploring and getting enough to buy the things I need or I want, great but this game is making me grinde and farm for a lot of it early in the game which I find REALLY annoying. There are items in the very first merchant that I haven’t even finished buying yet.

I am not losing rosaries as I am exploring (yet) but I am finding a lot of shops and need tons of rosaries to buy shit. Some areas have enemies that don’t give you any rosaries which increases my annoyance.

I looked up an early rosary farm spot and it turned out to be the one I used a few days ago, first day I started playing the game. Extra fucking annoyed cause I just spent 2 hours just running this loop to get more rosaries…

When I am exploring and fighting the unknown, this game is fun as hell… grinding for rosaries… yuack..

Just when I was done hypng great bosses I am now fighting The Unraveled. This is garbage
