Ive played like half of it, I didnt finis the first run and I know it has like 5 of them. '17 was a hectic year for me, and I didnt touch it since. Pre-ordered it off the back of the demo. The OST is still my favourite in any game, and I loved mostly everything. Ill go back for it to get the platinum.

Oh ok yea I did something similar with the game. Got about halfway through the first run and just stopped. Similar to what I've seen you saying before I was just in a gaming funk and had no desire to play anything. Got back into later after that and it was great. The game just keeps getting better and better.

I have the remake of the first on my wishlist but it will be awhile before I get to that.

As someone who has Nier Replicant (the recent remake) i can say i really liked it. Killer soundtrack, great characters, but it's not even in the same spectrum of how good Automata is, and really that's how it should be as Automata is an improvement on Replicant.

I generally like to start off my games on Hard and I did that with Automata and that first level rivals Bloodbornes first level as far as difficulty goes. It was just too much so I switched back to normal and still haven't beaten the boss on the bridge. The fact it sends you allllll the way back is a little much.

As far as HK, I'm at my last dreamer in the City. The Watcher Knights have been giving me some fits. It's a pretty tough fight tbh. I have a good amount of notches and an extra mask. I've whittled it down to one knight but I made a bad jump and died.

I found the
lantern insta kill
but even then, there's a lot to handle there.

If I could make a suggestion for the Silksong, I hope that Team Cherry makes the map a little easier to understand and follow. It's a difficult balance no doubt. On one hand, they need to create a map in a way that encourages exploration because that's the only way you're going to beat the game. On the other hand, not everyone has a photogenic memory. I just don't think that people are going to have a pen and paper next to them to write down where every important vendor is. They give you charms to let you mark places on the map, but that doesn't help when there are important vendors you need to meet to make it easier progress.

Exact same thing happened to me and I was getting super pissed about it. Just went back to normal and was finally able to beat it. I didn't understand sending you so far back either.

It really through me off. I didn't realize that it was a game with long checkpoints. Everyone complained about Fallen Order having long checkpoints, but if this is how this game is going to go, this is much worse. It really started to tilt me it was that hard right off the bat. The boss on the bridge doesn't seem too bad, it's the fact that you get sent all the way back that makes it a chore to get through. I will keep giving it a run though in the future. I don't want to miss out on what most people have considered an incredible game.

Yea I will say after that part the checkpoints never seem that bad again. At least not to the point that it was something I clearly remember about the game.

Felt the same. Actually, I loved the distance between them. Made it feel more like an adventure. Sometimes, a bit of a hardship makes the journey that much more. Idk. Guess it’s a personal thing. Had me more invested in the world.

That's really good to hear. After not understanding what I may have been doing wrong, I looked up what others felt about this specific level and it was pretty unanimous that people generally start out on Normal for the first level then change back to hard.

Not HK related but I was watching a Top 10 Metroidvania YT video and came across this game. It looked really familiar obviously. So I looked it up and sure enough it was inspired by HK.

(The other two that caught my eye were Aeterna Noctis and The Last Faith)

Everyone is the knight yes, and yes it's mod stuff... like this

Cranky is a mad man, i would never even attempt this.

@jojoRed

Holy shit, cant wait to get into seeing mods, speedruns, etc. Currently wattchingg an impossible run by Skurry. Seems insane, since Im getting whopped by the platforming in the White Palace. There's this stretch with no heals or checkpoints and Im tilted, but I keep trying again and again. Its so addictive and fun, while also bein a full tilt simulator. You get a run that's perfect and smash it without ease but you need a billion trial and error runs.

Yeah there's so much, there's even a modded version of Lost Kin where waves of orange goo go across the floor as you fight.

Also, I don't know if you've done the thing with the flower but...
There's a flower that you can receive from an npc and you have to take it to a specific spot on the other side of the map, if you take any damage the flower dies and you have to get a new one

Lost Kin is cancerous and theyve made it worse? LOL.
Im leavin that for the end-ish. I attempted a few times and thought I was smart using the dream gate. Ill probably clear a route and then go back for the flower without resting.

I'll let you be the judge of that...
