Hollow Knight is really REALLY good

You didn't have to post in the thread essentially complaining that I said it was good and you didn't like it because you didn't know what to do. It's not the games fault if you didn't know what to do and you don't like that kind of game. Get some help with walkthroughs or check a game out before buying it. Hell this thread probably had the information in it that it's not your kind of game. I for one am pleasantly surprised when I find a game that doesn't hold your hand and make you go through long friggin tutorials and explain every part of the game because it assumes you're stupid.

I definitely can't understand "it's boring" as this game is actually challenging and has the best 2d boss fights you will find anywhere outside of cuphead.

Obviously you keep progressing through the map until you have killed all of the bosses. Pretty easy to understand.
 
There’s a character right at the beginning of the game that gives out clues if you talk to him.

It is, but in fairness, I think this game takes some unnecessary steps to make it a bit more of a chore to figure out. Mainly in how it requires you to find that map guy in each new zone(and having to buy map markers on top of that), and how slowly it dishes out new skills you need to progress through certain areas. It can get a bit confusing and frustrating. That's my only knock on the game, really. Figuring out the map and exploring isn't as fun and satisfying as it is in other games of the same ilk. Even when you have the map, it's easy to get turned around, and retread areas you shouldn't be, because the areas and the maps aren't very distinctive. I think that's by design though, because they do give you incentive to keep fighting enemies over and over, since you're always collecting err..."souls" or whatever, to buy items and upgrades. So even when you are a bit lost, you're still doing something meaningful.

Not a deal breaker, but it could've been a bit tighter in that one area.
 
I love this game I was going to go for the platinum but one of the trophies seemed near impossible, I don't think I'm good enough to get it.

It's basically an arena where you have to kill every boss in the game in a row without dying including a few super bosses. I think there is like 35 bosses or something.

Wife getting hooked on this. Geo are souls of course. I’ve taught her well.
 
Wife is enjoying it but I’m finding this game to Be overrated dog shit. Slogging through artificially difficult levels only to die and have to backtrack from some far away area over and over again with no real sense of purpose within the game makes for a boring and tedious experience. 3/10.
 
Adding game length artificially by making you backtrack endlessly. In the current year. I wish the game developers wouldn’t have done this.

Chances are there is a check point nearby that would help. Just have to find it.

Edit: You mentioned souls earlier. So you enjoyed Dark Souls?
 
Ok having Put 40 hours into the game already I would say my opinion has changed. It’s a great, addicting game with some stiff challenges. I can’t beat Enraged Guardian to save my life at this point.

Check out salt and sanctuary as well. It's essentially a 2d Dark Souls so I recommend learning about the RPG elements or else you won't know what to do. Once everything makes sense it's really awesome.

I bought salt and sanctuary at launch but never gave it a fair shake once Ds3 came out. Maybe I’ll revisit it. I’m at Hornet in Kingdoms Edge and not only is she whooping me proper but the run back is pure hell lmao

I picked this up recently, to quench my souls itch, but it didnt resonate with me. I dont like playing as non human-like characters, makes feel detached. I prefer salt and sanctuary and am loving Bloodstsined, though I wish the latter had Salt and sanctuary like combat.

The atmosphere in this is awesome though, I'm sure I'll go back to it.
 
Came back to this and all I can say is the developers should burn in hell and have their genitals ground into a fine mince by Satan himself for including the White Palace portion of the game. Fucking 3 hours of absolute bullshit after bullshit. Harder than Super Meatboy by a LONG ways. I want those 3 hours of my life back lol.

90% of this game is amazing the last 10% is boss challenge bullshit
