Economy Hold on to your butts & buy TP; Potential Port Strike Looms Ahead

Enough of their bullshit

Soon they'll be going on strike for not getting free hookers and blow on the job

I'm in a union myself and it is just fucking insane how lazy people are with no fear of getting fired. We can fire 80% of our workforce and still be a pretty easy job.
I'm a union member going on 3.5 years now and non union the previous 5. While I like some of the perks of being union holy fuck is the level of entitled members shocking. If there's a minute they can spend not working they will happily do so.

I'm not necessarily against that but even in Europe their unions aren't always this insane. IIRC France has strong unions but on government projects certain decisions in regards to staffing and automation aren't determined by the unions. In fact Europe is far ahead of the US when it comes to automation in regards to things like ports and the building of commuter rail where US unions fight tooth and nail to prevent the switch to automation.
It’s way worse here. Especially at the ports. We spend so much more and are SO much less effective at our ports.

So they're protecting jobs so there are actually human beings involved that would get wrapped up in the consequences of changing e
equipment....

I got to say that I can't feel bad for any company that wants to replace jobs with automation if they get wrapped up in a battle with a union over it.

In this case I can sort of see both sides, but I can't see The side that mocks unions for protecting jobs.
fully automated stuff doesnt exist, automation devices only help workers. There is a limit to what they can do.

you can make the case that henry ford started it all with the assembly line, which drastically sped up the process of making cars, it didnt result in a loss of jobs...... shipping work to chyna was what lost jobs. If they want to make a contract regarding no full automation, Trump/Biden should just grant, it's a pipe dream. Automation tools are enhancement of life for workers rather than replacements. Sometimes they can replace very very low level jobs like picking up bowling pins, but those workers can be repurposed elsewhere.

these enhancements means that a warehouse worker is no longer doing back breaking work, they are working more efficiently, easier lives, yet still working, it can be beneficial all around. The business can make more, the workers are less tired.

Damn that's even worse than I thought. I imagined they were against automated heavy equipment that is applied directly to the task but they're even against automating gates? I guess the Mikes of the world will still have their jobs at the docks

Most toilet paper Americans use are made in the US and distributed by train and trucks. Port strikes won't affect dat ass.

Maybe dock workers should go back to writing every container ship contents down on pen and paper. Stop using forklifts and cranes and and go back to hand-bombing off loads.

Maybe Dagget can teach dock workers how to stretch a dollar? How to turned a 700k a year job into something that can buy a 70ft yacht a Bently and a massive mansion. Surely he can teach people making 80k a year how to live large

True

But the average American doesn't know that.

Check out this thread

Based on the last strike that led to a shortage, there will undoubtedly be another shortage if a strike happens again.
People are going to panic buy like you wouldn't believe!!

I’ll take this opportunity to brag about my new smart toilet with bidet and dryer. No need to smear shit all over my ass with TP anymore

This is where it's at my brother in Christ. Let the poor smear the shit all over themselves. I'll just use the ass salon that was simple to install on all four of our toilets.

What kind of degenerate animal is relying solely on toilet paper these days?

Hire illegal immigrants at 15 an hour and let them do the work. Democrats in sherdog should have no issue with this
Better yet, missapatoate some more H1B visas for the jobs and you Tump & or Musk glazers will sing the praises of aristocracy & your elite overlords.
