Sitting here watching food network and all the crazy stuff they cook there. Also, read this article that everybody's favorite hothead chef, Gordon Ramsey, listed the five things people should be able to cook: Burger, Breakfast/eggs, Braised meat, Chicken, Cake/dessert
https://www.yahoo.com/news/gordon-ramsay-says-five-things-181449154.html

Two part question:
(1) What is your go to dish you cook for somebody else you want to impress but not mess up?
(2) What are the five dishes/food items (not meals) anybody should be able to cook?

For me: I would make red sauce and shells with fresh veggies and herbs

Five dishes should all be able to make
Scrambled eggs
Pasta and sauce
Burger
Rice
Potato (baked or scalloped or hash browns)

The best dish I serve is an asswhoopin and I'll gladly hit u with it, TS.

I would do a lamb shoulder on the Weber with mac and cheese and coleslaw. If no Weber available I'd probably do a beef schnitzel parmigiana with mash and veggies.

People need to know how to cook spaghetti bolognese, a good steak (essential if you're a man), a decent burger, a good fry up breakfast and some sort of stir fry shit for weeknights when you have no time.

I got a Big Wiener for you.

I'd eat that. No homo.

PS: are we sharing?

My best dish would be eggplant timbale - thin sliced eggplant pressed into a springform pan and then filled with a mix of pasta, sauce, meat, veggies and cheese. Close up the eggplant on top, sprinkle some parmigian on top and bake at 350 for about 45 minutes.

Everyone should be able to cook
- a steak or burger,
- eggs,
- mac n cheese (not from a box) or pasta
- vegetables not in a microwave
- a grilled cheese sandwich

Fresh vagina marinated in clam sauce.

Excellent choices and sounds delicious. You should be on Cook or con.

So you're serving up your VJJ for your guests? All to share? I guess it's a pretty huge dish.

Chicken Marsala is my go to. Easy as hell to make and tastes damn good.

Easy as shit to make a fire ass steak as well with a baked potato.

Fry up breakfast?
And most of you have no clue what youre doing with steak, and i wouldnt trust anyone with a pan hot enough for a good stir fry

Sounds mushy and gross

Peruvian green spaghetti.

The green comes from a mix of basil, spinach and a shitload of queso fresco and some evaporated milk. Comes out creamy as hell.

Lots of fat = lots of flavor.

Not mushy unless it's cooked wrong. The eggplant should stay firm when baked and provides a shell for the filling. it should look like this:

I'm with you on the steaks. i've seen way too many people overcook or over-prepare a good steak. it really doesn't need much more than a good cast iron skillet or grill and a little salt and pepper at the end.

Simple. A medium rare steak served on a hot naked woman's body. Anyone that mentions ketchup on a steak in this thread is going to get shot between the eyes.

I make a sick mixture of asparagus, Brussels sprouts and red Bermuda onion.

So simple it isn't even funny.

Halve the Brussels sprouts and add a high end olive oil. Not a lot just a light coating so they don't burn in the over.

Let them cook for a bit then add the asparagus and red onions. Add some nice sea salt and some fresh cracked black pepper.

When I take them from the oven I squeeze a fresh lemon over the mixture.

Amazing tasting and takes like 13 minutes to make. Plus extremely healthy for people into eating. A healthy diet.

Plus this can be a side for grilled chicken, some nice fish, even a steak. I don't eat much red meat though.

Also you can grate some fresh Parmesan over them if you're into that type of deliciousness.

I love when peas are added to pasta or lasagna.

Peas are some of the best veggies out there.

I also make a good chimmichuri skirt steak with coconut jasmine rice and cold chili lime & mint fresh pea salad.

You could also just heavily rub the steak with a great dry rub and leave the chimmichuri off of it. Works great Either way to be honest.

Sounds like you should use a pan instead
